Obama's Mandate

Apparently so as Obama said himself...no one business was built by individuals. Government did it all. Therefore are welfare recipients receive from the government, and there are no individuals capable of doing it on their own, then yes.....the welfare people built that too:rolleyes:

And just to make a point......I wrote what I did about people who live in cities and those who do not showing that it does not matter where people live. There are takers in the city and well as out, just as there are those who work hard for themselves and their families, in the cities and out. I used the example I did to truly show how ridiculous the whole idea of where someone lives matters.

Also, the "us" versus "them" mentality is not new. BUT, when Obama was elected 4 years ago, he had an incredible opportunity to do amazing things. He was elected as the first black president in a country that had for so long been divided by color. He showed that color had the opportunity to have no input in the qualifications of someone chosen to lead this country.

However, in the 4 years, "color division" has reigned supreme. Not only was he unable to lessen the divide, he (and those in the democratic party) have done their best to make it worse. If those who choose to believe that conservatives, republicans, tea party, libertarians, ...whomever is not a democrat, vote against democrats based on color, then the "us" vs "them" will never cease to exist. If, perhaps, the democrats come to understand that those who voted against Obama voted strictly on policy and views of how the country should move forward, then perhaps it can become "we the people"...again.

I did not vote for Obama the first time, but I was supporting him in the beginning as I thought he would be a threshold this country has needed for a long time. I honestly believe his pride got in the way. He loves the power of the presidency and he loves the perks. He spends a lot of time at parties. But honestly, the way he overrides the constitution and views it as in his way....THAT is what is most disturbing.

Flame as you wish, but I love this country with all of my heart. I love that we have so many different nationalities of people here. I love that we truly are the greatest nation in the world. I want to stay that way.

Where do you get your information? Where do you live?

This world is far from Utopia. That will only exist in Heaven.

Until then, the desire for limited government (on which this country was founded) will continue to be sought after.

Perhaps I do share my views which seem much different from others here. I have such faith in people. The faith that they are stronger and wiser than our government gives them credit for. The faith that they will decide it is better to put in that hard day's work and have the self respect that comes with that, as opposed to continually relying on others to make their way.

I think the American Spirit is alive and well. I just believe there are people who need to hear about it again and desire it for themselves.

Fuck, my ignore function is working great in this thread.

Hey vetteman, why do you always end up with so damn many trolls following you?

There is so much anger here. I am just curious as to why? Those who seem the angriest as those who had their candidate win. I don't understand such anger when others post opposing views.

Just curious....how in the world did anyone live, work, have a family, succeed in this world before all of these government programs were enacted? I think there are many many people who greatly underestimate the American spirit. Give people a chance, they just might surprise you on how they can make their lives work without ANY government interference.

People had help, from LARGE families and farming communities. Now, the number of single adults and DINKs far exceed what's out there.

Government interference you say. Okay, read "The Jungle" by Sinclair Lewis, and tell me what your life would be without government interference.

Have a parent, an -in-law, with major health problems, come live with you. Oh, they have Medicare and Medicade..oh wait, that's right, you don't believe in that. Okay, have said senior with diabetes, heart problems, pancreatic cancer survivor who pees into a bag, hard of hearing from working in a textile mill for 30 years, and see if you can handle him without health insurance and governmental interference.

Personally, I am not angry when you post an opposing viewpoint.

I ridicule your opinion and mock it mercilessly, but I am not angry.

Anger? Naaah. We're gladiators.

BTW, Obama just officially won Florida.

Carry on...

I'm not angry when people post opposing viewpoints. I don't even mock it.

When people's viewpoints are based on pants-on-head premises more far removed from reality than Lonney Tunes on acid, is when I can't help myself.

if you don't agree with them, then you are a racist. you are talking to asshats here. they are consumers of the welfare

just remember, long life the welfare regime!

Perhaps it has something to do with your condescending attitude toward the poor and disabled (Let their families take care of them! They can just go to the emergency room if they get cancer, they don't need insurance for that!), or your offensive implication that the only reason people would vote Democrat is because they are lazy "takers" who want government handouts? Just a thought.

You definitely do not desire a limited government. You would like God to speak to you and then help you elect other good god-fearing people to tell the rest of us, by way of laws and big government, what should go on in our bedrooms and what can and cannot be done to our bodies and when we can teach science to our children and when we cannot.

please poor people more or less CHOOSE to be poor! they fall into the regime and jump on a career of welfare making them slaves to the system

Are not ExxonMobile, ConAgra, et al part of the "welfare regime"? I mean, they receive millions of handouts from the government.

WTF!! Oh yeah, people choose to be poor, like the mother whose ex left her for another woman, or the family that had their home blown away by a storm and haven't been able to recover, or the family where the father came down with rheumatic fever and can't work, the children are too young for the mother to work..yeah they CHOOSE to be poor.

You can choose to be ignorant, though!

They hate to see a sobering illustration of just how little of the country supports their candidate, it doesn't fit the narrative about "mandate.":)

Something interesting about the "mandate" and the Republican control of the house. 53,952,240 votes were cast for a Democratic candidate for the House and only 53,402,643 were cast for a Republican — meaning that Democratic votes exceed Republican votes by more than half a million nationwide.

But when you look at the gerrymandering in the republican controlled state legislatures it accounts for a lot of their ability to hold the House. Don't get me wrong, Dems do it to and it is what it is.

But when it comes to looking at what the majority want it does add to the credence of their being a mandate for President Obama continuing his course of policies and against the obstructionism of the Republicans.

Th GOP is going to have to consider playing ball or risk losing their slim hold.

the NY state Rep senate candidate received only 27% of the vote. Why? Because she was a clueless Tea Partier

You do realize that the ones who had their candidate lose have been the most butthurt, crying, whining and piss-angry bunch of losers since last Tuesday night? And that the butthurt is still continuing?

I'm not just talking about here, this pussy loser bullshit is going on EVERYWHERE. You'd have to have Mr. Magoo's eyeballs along with Stevie Wonder's sunglasses to not see that verity going on.

"Get off my damn lawn" Mitch McConnell is up for re-election in 2014. He faces a possible primary against a Tea Partier. If he survives that, he might be facing Ashely Judd, yeah, favorite daughter of the Commonwealth and Democratic activist. That's why he's so grumpy.

that's why is so important to more money out of the country. this is the only way to hold on to the assets one created. not that you would ever know about those things
