Nutcracker Magic

it twas magical....watching the lil miracle's eyes....her lil gasps....her face as she peered into the orchestra pit.....best performance yet.....mmmmmmm Christmas.....:)

From the very first time I ever talked to you, I could always see the light of love in your eyes as you talk about your lil miracle. Even before we became lovers, when you were "just" the most amazing friend I've ever had, I could see your eyes as you held a "conbersation" with her, as you watched her reactions, taking it all in.

You are simply the most beautiful soul I have ever known, and the greatest joy in my life.

*bumping*

I've just been informed that my daughter and I are going to the Nutcracker this Sunday night. I can't wait. I haven't been in YEARS! My Drama Queen keeps thinking that Barbie is going to be the star. She knows all the music though and that is exciting! I can't wait to watch her enjoy this. We have the best seats!

i just ordered our tickets for this year's Nutcracker performance....the lil miracle is so excited....she just squealed when we talked about it....it's so cool to have started this tradition of going with her and my Mom for the past few years.....really puts you in the Christmas spirit.....

our local ballet company and symphony work with a Russian ballet troupe.....and it's just an amazing performance....the non-principal roles danced by local kids.....

is the Nutcracker part of your holiday celebrations?

how old were you the first time you saw it?

(we're taking the lil miracle to see Cats the weekend before Christmas....now she has the video of the musical....knows it....but was far more thrilled to hear about the Nutcracker tickets than Cats..weird, huh?....but cool all the same....;) )

the nutcracker has always been one of my favorites
when i was 9, the ballet company i was with did the nutcracker and i got to be in it, it was so exciting

i saw a commercial for the dallas/ft worth ballet production the other day
i cracked up because i wasn't sure if the guy was promoting the ballet or trying to convince people that he wasn't gay

Thanks for the reminder Gin! My daughter informed me that she wanted to see something NEW this year...but I'm still going. Just not with her...maybe next year. I have to find something fun for her and I to go to. Hmm...

I just got tickets to go too ! Dec 23.....my first time going to a live performance.......However, I watch the classic version every year with Baryishikov ( ?) and Gelsey Kirkland.....

After you have seen it on stage (assuming you are seeing a good ballet company doing it) you will not be as enthralled with the TV version. There's something about ballet (and opera and symphony orchestras) live and on stage that raises the bar.

It is a wonderful experience, that said, since you have seen it already, you are familiar with the story and can also enjoy the different interpretations of the action.

Funny - The Nutcracker is one of Tchikovsky's most beloved works but one of his least favorites. he didn't like it!

Waltz of the Flowers is my very favorite from the ballet.

mmmmmmmm....<sleepy smile, lil buzz going>

it was better than last year....same principal dancers...and they were just on tonight....

Its cool when you can tell performers are "on." If you can feel their emotion it makes it so much better. Sounds like it was fun. . .

Did they actually crack any "nuts" onstage? This wasn't the Ginny X rated version or anything, huh?

Hmmmmmmmm...i saw the thread title and it was posted by Ginny.

i thought it was going to be a sex thread. sorry. my mistake.

Hugs!:rose:

Talk about what a difference a year makes...did anyone else see that this was one of Ginny's threads and think "Oh S%$, She's Not Gonna Go There!"
