Does anyone know why the nude day stories are not actually being put into the main nude day contest page....

Like someone else in this thread I noticed that there are a few new stories but none of them are in the front page thing???

I have noticed a set of symptoms that lead me to believe that I know what is happening.

It would appear that there are several databases within Literotica. The computers updating the Literotica databases are apparently very slow. One database will get updated hours or even days before another.

I specifically notice that one of my new stories will appear in certain listings, but not others. Within a few hours said story will then appear in the listings in which it had been missing. Also, the count of my stopries appears to be the last thing updated, as I frequently find new stories where the count of stories has not yet been updated.

Votes tally immediately -

Those will be on your submissions page very quickly.

The tally system for number of reads is different. It may be 6 - 12 hours or so before it renews.

Personally, I have found that stories stay in the NEW category (with an 'N' next to them) for the first week. And for the first day or so the NEW listing (and through the BIO page) is the only way they can be accessed.

Then after a little while (while still remaining NEW) they will also appear in their specific category.

As for the Nude Contest entries? I imagine it is just slower to update, but it does appear many stories were added this morning.

If your story is posted and does NOT appear on that page AFTER 12 hours contact her and tell her but give her 12 hours.

Stories must have 25 votes to be eligible.

Maybe they don't go to the contest page until they have 25 votes?

yeah, that's a good question. As of today, my entry is 4th from the bottom. I hope the order isn't based on ratings.

some days the stories are in alpha order
other days by alpha order of the author's name
other days in opposite order
they are repeatedly changed around

Looks like I'm in for middle order again. 11 votes out of 2286 views for 4.09.

Did some quick maths and I can't figure any ones in there so I'll take that as a good sign that it came out just the way I thought I'd written it, edgy and slightly distasteful or at least embarrassing. Even had a PM to that effect.

I'm sorry that your story is not scoring well, but it is well above last place because you have more than 25 votes therefore it rates as 2.90.

Muslim Roles is rated 3.64 but with only 11 votes so...

3.64 * 11 / 25 = 1.06

Beat that! I am sure some unfortunate AH writer will. I think putting Muslim in the title (and throughout the story) was a masterstroke towards the last place competition.

Only a naked GWB is likely to score worse. Any stories about him?

Don't worry, that sounds exactly how I was doing! My story was lame, but it deserved to be at least a 3, not a 2! (who votes 2 anyhow?) But magically about 10 votes disappeared yesterday, so Laurel must be checking them for trolls regularly. She'll probably get to yours in the next few days.

No fair Og - usually your first votes are your best, so I don't think dividing 12 votes by 25 is in the least bit logical! You're going to have to pull some other shifty move to try and come last place!

The rules for coming last are the same as they were for the Earth Day story. If the story doesn't get 25 votes by the end of the main competition then the number of votes actually received is divided by the minimum 25 necessary to be scoring in the main competition.

'Muslim Roles' has been posted a long time and is still on 11 votes. 'Pride' posted one day later is on 54 votes.

I still don't think 'Muslim Roles' will come last. Someone will post a stinker on the last day of the competition and score 3.00 or below with say 3 votes.

For me, the point of entering these competitions is that I get more reads, more votes, and more comments than I get for normally submitted stories. "New" stories are new for a short time. Competition entries have a link from the front page for nearly a month. Shame they attract the trolls as well.

I have received wonderful feedback, great public comments, and a flurry of '1' votes.

I am thinking I should have waited to submit this story another time and not be a part of this contest.
