NOW tends to hate all forms of sexual expression. They're very Victorian in their official position on sex. Their anti-porn stance is part of my problem with the tide of Third-Wave feminism.

NOW's message boards are pretty bad, as are MS magazine's. I made the mistake of visiting there once. Very unforgiving and cold unless you hold to the very narrow political and sexual approaches they approve of. I recommend that if you are sensitive at all, you don't go there or you're going to get burned bad, even if you never say a word. The hatred and intolerance will shock and astonish you.

I am a feminist, by the way, a very strong pro-choice-whatever-your-choice-is feminist; it's the leadership of groups and forum like that I consider to be anti-female facists.

Someone please help me out here, what does NOW stand for? Is it National Organization of Women or something like that? I just can't remember and know I should know this.

I thought the third wave was pro-girlie BDSM.

I used to spend a lot of time hanging out at the NOW and Ms. forums, before they decided to make them inaccessible to anyone who made the hags uncomfortable. It was a real education in Utopianism. They had some fuckin' smart women in there.
