Notification Help Please?

One of the more annoying mistakes I have made as a novice to these boards was to check off the "Email Notification: emails sent to you whenever someone replies. Only registered users are eligible." option.

Now I'm flooded every day with these notifications. More than one per thread even though I believe its only supposed to notify you once? (or only once until you view again then it kicks in once more)

I know I can change my options for future posts BUT... is there anyway to turn it off for those I've already "subscribed" to?

I was just thinking about the poor bastards who play in the "Something New and Different" thread with email notification turned on.

WIsh I knew, I'm getting notifications from one thread, it's one of those neverending threads too. I think I posted once at about page 75 but I can't find me.

Damn...just damn.

Adorice - if you've already selected email notification in a thread and then post again with email notification turned off - does that actually over-ride the first email notification request?

It's a pain. I had it turned on for slut-boy's monster.

First, turn it off in your member profile, easy enough.

Second, go back through the threads you're receiving emails from and edit each post you've made. At the bottom of the "Your Reply" screen is an "Options" menu. Uncheck Email Notification by clicking on. Do this for every single post you've made to that thread. It's the only way to quit getting your mailbox filled up.

Obviously if you posted to a thread thats on page 4 and no one is replying, you don't have to worry about shutting it off. Just wait til you get mail on the thread, then go and do the post thing.

No no no Dillinger. This isn't the part where you smile, this is the part where you open Lil Brandi's monster and shriek NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! so loudly the pigeons in Czeckoslovakia take flight.

You can smile in satisfaction after taking care of all the email things. Until you get another email notification. Just remember that tarzan like yells inside of a pressurized space helmet hurt.

Oh FUCK... I just did that without thinking.... shit shit shit... oh... wait... ah... good, I changed my profile yesterday to no email notifications!

Perhaps Laurel might consider changing that to the default so unsuspecting newbies don't fall prey to the notification demon
