At the end of our Civil War, 150 years ago, we amended our Constitution to end slavery and make blacks citizens, tho the 14th Amendment left women non-citizens until the 20th Century.

But nothing changed with respect to the right of secession and the status of State Sovereignty. Recall Lincoln invaded Virginia to crush secession and disunion. Many think Southerners were traitors tho no one ever amended the Constitution to outlaw the action. The reason is simple, secession is a required function of any society because its the last escape hatch away from political tyranny and subjugation. If life gets too bad you can collect your marbles and go home. Example:

Lets say Canada invaded the USA today and murdered our government and military. Who's now in charge? The States, and the People if the States are defeated by the Canadian devils. It aint over till the last American becomes a Kweer Kanadian or a Kongo Kannibal or a Kwazy Kiwi or a Kondo Kike or Kantakerous Kardashian.
