Wine selections in small towns are never stellar. I do wonder who they market the large bottles for. I usually end up driving to the nearest city to find a wine selection, or visit the nearest winery.I have a complaint about my small town grocery store. Normally I can find almost anything that I want, which I always find to be a surprise. The one thing you can’t find, however, is a decent wine selection. The day is perfection, my oven is pre-heating to 400* for my roasted veggies, and I want a glass or two of white wine. Now, they do have white wine, but they only carry ginormous bottles of what I’m sure is a less than stellar vintage. I’m not knocking cheap wine, some of the best whites I’ve had are $20 and under. What I can’t stand are the cheap, huge bottles. Who in their right mind would buy that to serve, or even cook with.
Back to my veggies. My oven just finished pre-heating. My lemons, onions, and garlic are cut and ready to go. I’m salivating just thinking about the final product. It’s not just those three. I’ve also got carrots, asparagus, green onions, and grape tomatoes to add. Oh, yeah. In an hour, when I’m finally able to eat. It’s going to be good.

We have several good wineries in the area, I just never happen to be around them when I feel like wine. My nearest city is half an hour away.I felt like it right now. Now the urge has passed and the next time I'm in a city I won't think to buy any.
You need someone to send you a naughty text message when you go to the city, and then when you text back, they send you "Buy white wine"
Problem solved.

. Nearest city for me is a little over an hour. Just was there today. No wine, but I am closer to that road bike purchase.
No idea , but I would guess not very long. Not much help, sorry.Yowza! I thought I lived in the middle of nowhere. It must be wonderful to be so far away from everything.
Oh, my gosh! My onions and lemons are done roasting. Oh, sweet heavens! The onions are perfection. They're sweet and sour, taste a little like olive oil. I done good. Now I'm waiting for the carrots.
Does anyone know how long to roast asparagus? Please, please, please let me know how long.

It sounds very good. Perhaps put two in for five minutes eat that, then try two more, and so on until you hit the perfect time. Or, you could try this:That's okay. I'll figure it out. I've never roasted it before. Usually I eat it steamed, but I got it in my head that I wanted roasted veggies tonight.

drizzle olive oil over asparagus and add some salt and pepper. Roast at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until tips start turning brown. Shake them around about halfway through. This is what it says in my recipe book.![]()
