"About 80% of all unemployed people find a new job after 90 days", says a representative for the Unemployment Agency.

When investigating the matter, a journalist found that it was actually only 29%.

The minister of employment (hjälp, svenskar, hur översätter man arbetsmarknadsminister?) says he believes more in what his fellow Riksdag members tells him, than mere statistics, because "the members of the Riksdag (Swedish parliament) are more in touch with real life".

After looking through the numbers, the representative at the top of this post says that 80% was unrealistic, 42% is more realistic.

When people of authority babbles the way they do, and then turn out to be completely off track, HOW CAN WE TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY????

An investigation shows that it's as hard to find a new job after one year as after 6 months. I haven't worked for more than 2 years.

And here I thought that you had more enlightened attitudes in Sweden than we've got here.

People in power are ALWAYS fools.
Yep. That's the primary requirement. I mean, who else would WANT to be in charge?

Re: People in power.

It would be better if, every time they got something wrong (ie: frequently) we could publicly hang them upside down by their ankles (or nadgers) and beat them with irregularly shaped vegetables!

It wouldn't be too bad to have fools running things, if only they didn't get to decide things.

One of my favorite quotes, although I don't remember who said it: "Who's the bigger fool, the fool or the fool who follows him?"

Thank you.

I don't know if you're the fullfiller of fantasies, but you surely occupy several of mine.

Well, I am the fulfiller of my own, with somebody else's help. And, I know I also fulfill his in the process. ;) :p

It's Monday morning, and I was all raring to go to write. I got myself a cup of tea, and slipped into that zone. I began to write, got two sentences down, and then some bastards have started drilling up the road outside my house. Pnuematic drills don't make for good writing buddies. :(

I'm now praying they don't drill through the power cable, or something daft!

Lou

That's right folks the story that no one's been waiting for is finally up. Meeting Destiny is the story of the mrs and I read it or don't.

They didn't! Whoop! I'm amazed and delighted. :D

(They did dig up part of the garden outside my side window, though, but they are excused, because they did ask me if it was ok to do so first, and they were very nice men.)

I have no doubt of that.

Love the new pic. There's nothing like a woman with a great pair of guns.

Love Renza's story!! Awesome, girl!

Lou....oooh, think of a new sexy story involving those diggers....could be exciting!

Just found out today that my husband's sister has been put in some sort of psychiatric hospital, and her 10 year old daughter placed in foster care.

Start the fight tomorrow to get custody of her. I honestly can't understand why no one called us before placing her.

Wish us luck.

Cloudy, I'm so sorry to hear that. Please let me know if you need anything. I've been told I'm a good listener.

Good luck with the little one. She needs her family now. Glad you're coming through for her.
