I was thinking it was something salty or buttery, but now I'm thinking it might be chocolate.

The last time I was in Colombo I ended up riding a wet elephant barebacked along a river bed.
I was wearing thin shorts and found that the hairs on the back of an elephant's neck are as sharp as needles. The ears flapping against my bare legs were like being hit with a wet towel.
I was trying to smile for the US tourists' cine-cameras. I don't think my smile was convincing.

Earlier I posted that I'm going to the symphony tonight (leaving in less than two hours). I'll be seeing and hearing Beethoven's only opera, "Fidelio". Right now I'm listening to a selection of Maria Callas, this moment she is singing an aria as Verdi's Lady Macbeth. I feel as if every nerve and cell of my body is on fire. My fingers are shaking as I type so that I need to backspace and correct every other word. That's what opera does to me. I feel like I do on a first date with a man that excites me. I feel happy, painfully happy. If I could fuck someone right now I'd leave only his bones.

Vella, sure, I'd be flattered.
It was a great performance, the singers, orchestra, conductor, all. At the intermission I bought my usual glass of Champagne and went to the outdoor balcony to smoke. As I was looking for my lighter a gentleman came up to me and offered me his. Gosh, I cannot remember the last time a man lit a cigarette for me. I love that. I thanked him and he walked away, so after a couple drags I went up to him and asked how he liked the first act. He knew music and opera well, it was a lovely conversation. He seemed around 65-ish, an old-fashioned type gent. The finale was great, I got a cab right away and now I cannot sleep.
Somme, I don't know the overtures by name, I'll have to listen to the third now.
