I have made appointment to get my nipples pierced on friday and I had got my belly button done so what I am asking does it hurt the same or is it more pain to it. If any one had it done how bad did it hurt and can you wear like a bra or have to wait a few weeks. Any help would be great. :)

Latinababe! Thank you! I actually logged on to the forum today so I could post a question about nipple piercing, and the page loaded, and there was your thread, right at the top!

So, I want to know the answer to Latinababe's question about bras too.

At the moment I'm considering the piercing, but my big hangup is that I do Brazilian Jiu Jistu, which is basically a type of wrestling... Is this going to be possible with pierced nipples??? How long would I have to have off from training? (There is a LOT of pressure in this sport.)

Most welcome, still waiting for help though (LoL) :D

Well, 1st off I am a guy so I cant answer your bra question, sorry. 2ndly, Hi all, nice place here :)

As far as the pain, it isnt too bad. And its not nearly as bad as getting your septum done. Dont get me wrong it hurts, but it's one of those things that the pain is gone by the time you start to say ow. However, they are gonna be sore as hell for a couple of weeks.

If I were in your postition with the Jiu Jistu, I wouldnt get it done. I used to be a diesel mechanic and pierced nipples didnt work out too well. I eventually took them out because having to squeeze into tight places, or they'd get banged on something and it would take a few weeks to heal.

Oh, if your worried about the pain, I would highly suggest starting out with a captive bead ring instead of a bar or something that has threads. Those threads hurt worse than the needle ;)

I have to admit that it hurt like hell when I got my nipples pierced ... I almost didn't get the second one done at all! Afterwards it took a good two weeks for them to stop being painful, but I wore a bra all that time and sticking plasters to prevent drag down on the nipple rings.

No matter what, it was all worth it. I now have a 3 year old daughter and I've been breast feeding her the whole time. I still express milk twice a day in addition to the late night feed that my daughter enjoys. All of this has not been a problem with my pierced nipples.

Go for it!

I have my pierced (both), it hurt but not nearly as much as I expected it to. They do take a really long time to heal. I had my done in May and while they don't hurt at all they still pus a little (sorry TMI!!:( ) This is site was super helpful for me. Body Piercing and Tatooing

Well tonight I did it...I went and got both my nips pierced and I have to say it did hurt but not as bad as I thought....They are a bit sore right now but it was well worth it...My nips look so awsome now ;)

I got mine done about three months ago. It was the second time I've had them done, and I would say the body piercers attitude is a huge factor in whether it hurts extremely bad or not. He talked me though it, kept my thoughts elsewhere, and I didnt look. I find if I dont look, I dont build myself up and get anxious about the point of entry.

Just calm your breathing, find that inner place that helps you focus, take some deep breaths and when you feel that intial shock, send the pain elsewhere.

Me being the twisted creature I am, I chose to send it downwards to my crotch. What an unbelievable wave of adrenaline and pleasure. I was soaked. ;p Plus the piercer was fucking adorable.

Pierced Nipps

Just had mine done a week and a half ago, as well as my clit hood the same night. It helped that the shop I went to has two piercers and they did both nipples at the same time.

They don't hurt all the time, though there is an occasional twinge. And they do encourabe you to wear a tight bra all the time the first month or more. I have found sports bras to be the most comfortable. (I am a 40ddd so no I am not small, but they are snug and hold the rings nice and close).

Soaking the nipples in a shot glass of warm water and a 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt each evening feels great, keeps them clean and helps them heal quickly as well.

Good luck!

the correct mix is 1/4 teaspoon sea salt to a full cup (250ml) of warm water. using salt solutions stronger than this can lead to the newly forming skin drying out too much and extending healing time.

Warrior Queen, I have a question,

When they're pierced, do you have to have a ring, or can you go with a barbell as the first one?

Also, my sister inquired at my tattooist, and they said that piercing women's and men's nipples is different, and that women need a "D" ring. Is that true, and what is a "D" ring?

it is better to do the initial piercing with either a CBR (captive bead ring) or a 'D' ring, as this allows room for swelling, which will happen for the first couple of weeks.
the diameter of the CBR should be twice the size of the nipple.
with 'D' rings, it's a little different, in that you need to allow about 1.5mm on either side of the straight part for swelling.
(a 'D' ring looks much like a CBR, except that the side opposite the ball is straight instead of curved all the way round. looks like a D, but with the ball situated ...D<--- there on the d. turn the flat side up, and you have a 'D' ring.)

i don't like to pierce with barbells because one of the best healing things is air circulation around the piercing, and the balls resting up against the holes prevent that somewhat.

my recommendation is to get pierced with 'D' rings, then if you really want barbells, change them out after 8 weeks.
but remember that nipples can take a very long time to heal fully (up to 12 months!) and that changing the jewelry before fully healed can aggravate the newly formed skin cells within the piercing channel, delaying healing again.

please, ask around for recommendations with everyone you meet who has been pierced - you want to make sure that whoever you go to has not only got the expertise and experience, but offers a complete after-care service as well.
