so my sister calls me and tells me this is what my nephew wants from Santa
Does anyone here know how much these cost? And what may be the better store to buy it from? Thanks if you can help,I know NOTHING about video games

i have to wii wii

They run for around $250, and that comes with one game and one controller. A lot of stores probably have them this morning, as they advertised them in their ads. Check your local paper. Besides the big stores, I would check some of the specialty game shops, like GameStop or EBX. I got mine at GameStop. Call around first.

Ali they are out of stock EVERYWHERE apart from Ebay...and then you can pay nearly double the price..I know I had to several weeks ago

GameStop, and others, probably will not have them - Nintendo is already saying they are offering a raincheck, and I know GameStop is mentioned specifically in this story as doing so

Wii's are not going to easily be found this xmas season...that's a known fact unfortunately...

I bought my 10 year old nephew one for Christmas. I got it in October. From what I've seen on television, they are hard to find now. Some stores are selling them for delivery in February and you get a certificate to give to the recipient now.

thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

Wal-mart may still be running a package bundle ... it runs around $550 though :(

Best thing to do is watch your store ads and know which store's supposed to get some in. I lucked out and overheard someone talking about it and stood in line for 1/2 hour before the doors opened to get one

im just really suprised at how hard it seems to be to find it
,,,maybe im stupid,lol
it seems like the store would be packed with them at this time of the year

They said they're just having a hard time keeping up with production. They dropped their price, so between that, the X-box, and the PS3, the Wii is the cheapest. It's also more entertaining :cathappy:

just the way it gets at this time of year....considering its one of the, if the the one, hottest thing to get ahold of this year, that means everyone who doesn't have one and wants one will be looking hard for one - and on top of that just cause an ad has it, doesn't mean the store will have it - retail changes so fast that things go out of stock way quicker than the store ever thought it would just cause of demand....hence Nintendo doin rain checks, along with other stores like was said, you can buy it now and get a certificate to get it in Jan-Feb when the stock is replenished

My husband just bought a wii this morning for our kids for Christmas. He paid around $300 for the wii and the warranty for it.

Check your local Craig's list. I have new Wii bundles for under $300.00 on the one here. In case you don't know about Craig's List already, just do a google for it and then find your city or the city closest to you and start looking at the ads.

I cannot speak for your area but around here there have been virtually no Wii's avaialble since mid October. I got mine by-swear to God- flirting with a stockroom clerk at Toys-R-Us and finding out they were getting 24 in the store on a certain date. The store opened at 9 and I was third in line at 7:45.
Turned out there were only 12 Wii shipped, not 24 so I was grateful I decided to show up early.

I will say this about the Wii, it is well worth the cost. At only $250 it has loads of cool features that appeal to both young and older gamers and as the ads say you can play it even if you have zero gaming skill! I like it because so many of the games require that players move and use their bodies to participate in the game. I tried the Wii boxing and I swear that thing gave me a workout! As a parent and educator that aspect is a huge selling point for me. Another thing I like is that the majority of the games I have seen are not of the Resident Evil, blood and guts, shoot em up variety, but are still entertaining and challenge the players. The games are not outrageously expensive either. Most run between $39.99 to $49.99 and you can play Gamecube games on them if you buy the classic controller for $20. With PS3 retailing at around $400 the Wii is a steal and in my opinion a better option for family gaming.
Thus far the only flaw we have found with the Wii is that they are super sensetive. Our system got slightly bumped while my husbands Guitar Hero disk was in use and it was scratched beyond repair.

As has been said you can try looking around and calling (I really recommend calling! Save yourself the wasted gas) to see if any have made it to retailers around you, but I doubt you'll find one til after the holiday season. Nintendo has been having a hard time keeping up with demand and as such has said that rather then frustrate shoppers further by continuing to advertise a product that they can't buy they will pull ads until after January. By then they should have worked out the production bugs and will be able to meet consumer demands.

Definately try to find out when they are coming, and how the retailer is going to dispurse them. Our local store got 9 in, but had a list of 150 people waiting to get one so they held a raffle-style drawing. This is something you had to be "in the know" about to be involved in - so ASK!!

I hope you are able to find one. They are scarce, and as keiffers mentioned it is due to supply vs. demand. It's a great problem for Nintendo to have ;)
