Nice Launch

I just watched the Atlas V launch from Cape Canaveral. Even though I'm well over 100 miles away from the launch site it's still fun to watch them go up. Hell from here I was even able to watch first stage seperation.

This launch was an important one as it is carrying the Air Forces new unmanned re-entry vehicle. We'll see how it works.

Whenever I see pictures of the Atlas V, it always reminds me of a giant sperm cell. Not that there's anything wrong with a ginormous sperm cell.........

Since my father worked on the space program many moons ago, I have a fondness for rockets and rocket boosters. Didn't get to see the launch, but I did watch the shuttle land the other day. I get a vicarious thrill from the camera that's positioned so that you see what the pilot sees.
