Yeah...we nice guys can really whip up some moments of sheer bastardness.
Of course, when we're not nice, it's seen as worse than it is, ebcause you end up comparing it with all the niceness we've done. It's worse in contrast than if a bad guy does a bad thing.
And it's also a shock to see a nice guy turn jerk.

The challenge is figuring out whether a guy is nice or "nice".

It took me a long time to finally meet a nice guy in the first place!!!!!!!

Nice guys DO exist. And it's impossible for a nice guy to BE a jerk. He may behave like a jerk now and then, but that doesn't make him one. There's a big difference between having moments and something being a personality trait.
If you're letting yourself get pulled into the 'nice guy act' by assholes, you maybe need to think about the type of man you're attracted to, and how well you know them before your emotions get involved.
