One strategy is multi generations of family living together, having a garden & chicken coop,in a area where such is feasable. My dad was on a disability when I graduated 2 yr college.
He said my dad died in a nursing home,I don t want to go in a place like that. So,what can I help you with?
I said a modest piece of land would be good to put a mfg home on...I had been a State Psych Nurse to put myself thru college. When he passed away,we were living on a 1/2 acre site with a mfg home on it,with septic tank, city water,& power/phone lines to it,off a paved State Hwy,back in 87...There were No chickens,we put bushes & trees on it,a gravel driveway,as we developed the undeveloped lot,no building code restrictions out of town....
Impressions on this intel, recommendations such as these,constructively...Like,the picture in the articles link shows pigeons....Over in WW2 Europe, people ate pigeons ,so ,get a book on making pigeon traps,& put 3 or 4 at a time in a roaster with chicken bullion cubes,1/2 gal water, after butchering them out.I had a neighbor that kept pigeons in Miami, back in 1980.He d sell some, catch them around the city...
