new writter!

Odd. Not true from what I hear. And I admit I'm tough on some of the new writers because they suck.

Why don't you put up one of your stories in the Feedback Forum and see what I really think of them?

And stop trying to bully me, SR. It won't work.

Who cares what you'd think of them? You're not a trained writer (certainly not a trained reviewer) and don't even write erotica.

Oh, let's be scientific about it. We're both published--and on comparable lists. Let's just go to those lists and see how the paying readers vote comparably with their dollars. :D

(And remember, you brought it up, and you opened an attack on my writing when my comments were on your behavior and reviewing capabilities.)

*quietly points out that, you don't have to be a professional to review something. giving a review, is giving an opinion. and anyone can give an opinion, plus if someone is going to post a thread to people to openly review their story, wherever genre, then you have to accept bad criticism with the good. (backs out slowly)*

Well, true, but when you review something with your head up your ass--especially when you make idiotic sweeping generalizations, can't even tell POV from tense, laugh at someone's misspellings while misspelling left in right in your own post, or give brilliant analysis like "this sucks," there's nothing wrong with a more experienced writer and editor coming along and pointing that out, either. That's opinion too. Just better informed opinion.

And, if you post your story for review, you don't have to accept "bad" criticism. You should accept unfavorable criticism, of course. But there's a difference. There's no reason why bad criticism shouldn't be challenged.

Silly, don't back out of your own thread. You're right, any Tom, Dick, or Harry can give their opinion. So long as it pertains to the story it's a review.

Is your story up yet? I just want to point out that the teasing you got here--which for the most part was lighthearted--is nothing compared to what the anons will do in the comment box. If you make an effort to make spelling and proper grammar a habit, you won't need to think about it when you're writing. Which means you can put all your effort into telling a good story.

You aren't the first to put up a 'new writter' thread and you won't be the last. I actually got a chuckle the other day when I noticed a thread in the editors forum using 'to' for 'too'. Silly little things, but what's worse? Sitting there and snickering behind you hand or pointing it out?

That's my opinion. If you want to keep posting the way you have been that's your choice. Most will eventually let it go. It's grating for some to read, but you don't have to care about what anyone thinks of your writing. You seem to be having fun here in any case. Stick with that, let the rest slide and try to enjoy the madness ;)

As broadly stroked as your speech was, sr, this is not about reviewing stories, it's what Amy would like to see in her thread. Try being more polite in someone's place, especially when you weren't invited. You do talk so much about respecting one's opinion.

Nope :( story is still in 'preview'. and i know i have to improve my...well everything about my writing, but thats why I'm here, to get advice and listen to criticism.
i haven't got many talents, and the few things i have wrote, weren't great, but they were liked.
so IF my story does go up, i do hope you all like it, spelling and proper grammar aside :) and yes tell me what i done wrong lol.

Amy what exactly does it say beside your story? If it's 'pending', then it's all good. If it's 'in preview-waiting to be submitted' then you haven't really submitted it yet. You'll have to click on it and submit it again. I think sr mentioned that in your other thread.

mmm now i feel silly. lol yeah it say's, 'im preview (needs to be submitted)'.
 i asked before and they said that was ok just to leave it!

Well, then I counsel being a bit discerning about the relative quality of any critiques you get. Check the reviewers out. Check out their stories and how well you think they write--especially in the catagories you're writing in. How well written is their critique posting even? Submit their advice to the "sniff" test. Be leery about any "everyone does," "you must," "we always," "we never" statements in critiques. Erotica writing--and, more important, reading, has an extremely wide band in preferences and expectations--both in what satisfies and in how literary or long/short it "needs" to be.

When a reviewer tries to box you into a "we always" or "what's best" or "this is the sophisticated POV" formula, listen to them if you want to write in a formula box, but run away from them if you want to experiment or to follow what turns you yourself on. You can submit as many stories here as you want and this isn't the New Yorker. Writing isn't called a creative activity just because that phrase is catchy.

And you can allow yourselve to develop rather than thinking you have to wait until you post the perfect story. (There's no such thing, for starters). And if down the road, you want to delete or rework your earlier writings you can easily do so here.

In short, write what and how you damn well please. If it pleases you, that's most of whatever reward you need to get for the effort.

No, you asked before and I told you you needed to go back into your submissions page and click on "submit" again.

Just a little late (as usual) to try showing a sensitive side, Lance. (Always giggle when I hear that name.)

I did mention you'd be waiting a long time ;) After sr explained it you mentioned you'd done the submit thing so I thought you'd figured it out.

Good thing is, if you want to have someone look it over for you quick, you can still do that.

I know you have a thing for me sr, but even though I'm Santa this year, you can pull your pants back up, I ain't fucking your ass. Now go be sensitive to someone who gives a fuck. Merry Fucking Christmas, ya Ho Ho Ho

My . . . that was typically senstive of you, Lance. Thanks for the demonstration. :D

OK, now I'm scared! lol, so i should find an editor?

Classic example of the srp71lt technique. :D

Thanks. I rather enjoyed it. Especially if it just stops the silliness and hypocrisy.

But you missed the touch of my paranthetical phrase up there, I think. It never fails to bring out the anger in a jackass homophobe. :D

(And, yes, I know you were being sarcastic. I enjoyed that too. Putting you on the side of the homophobe once again.)

Why in the world do we have to stop the silliness? Hypocrisy I get...silliness? Now you're just being mean. :p

And Lance, balls slamming is bad form. Keep the gloves up. Better yet take a step back. You're starting to foam at the mouth and I don't think Amy wants that in 'her' thread.

OK. out. now.go!
don't be coming up, in my thread, and start accusing people of being homophobe's.

Excuse me, Amy. Reading comprehension problems too? :D

Are you completely out of meds now sr? Where do you see me being homo-phobic? All I see is you coming on to me and dropping your pants in front of everyone. It's just a preferential choice I'm making. Now, be a good boy and run along, or Santa will turn your dick into a lump of coal and your ass into a Pilot light. Enjoy the season, Ha Ha Ha
