Hi Brittany and welcome. There is also a "Story Ideas" thread on AH and I have met and written well with people there. :)

Welcome Brittney.

It may be better to try and write a quick one on your own, then post it. Focus on the quality though, because if you want to write with others, they'll probably want a reference of your abilities.

Then again, I have exactly zero collaborations here, so perhaps I'm just overspeculating and talking more out my ass than I should.

Either way, welcome.

is it a bad thing?

Yeah, it's bad. But don't worry about it. Just keep writing; we'll get you in step. You're an AHer now. We take care of our own, for the most part.

If I could make a suggestion:

Perhaps it would be best to write a story flat out, meaning not on the RP forum, but for yourself (if that's what you intend, in terms of being a writer; in RP, I don't think they're all that concerned with the whole measurements issue) then post when it's finished and let us pass it around and give you some pointers.

Just a suggestion.

Most of us started with 'bad' first stories.

If you look at the 'Welcome Authors! Please Read' thread at the top of the Author's Hangout and at the contributions to the How To category you will find plenty of good advice.

Giving measurements (36DDs, 10inches, 120 pounds) etc. is not recommended practice for a Literotica story. It is better to use imprecise terms such as 'medium build', 'well-endowed' and other euphemisms or to let the character's physical characteristics become apparent through the story e.g. 'Despite my size he swung me off my feet as if I was a lightweight...'

Preferably not in the first sentence.

Ouch!

The third sentence of your story isn't a sentence.

It doesn't have a verb.

While that is allowable in dialogue, it puts readers off in descriptions.

If you can, please write grammatically and spell-check. Minor lapses will probably be ignored but continual flaws turn readers off.

Abbreviations? Dr.? No! Use 'Doctor'.

I agree with Quiet_Cool. You should write your story from the start, not as a collaboration or as role-play. Think of a plot - a beginning, development or conflict, and an ending.

Think about why people behave as they do. What is the reason for someone hating someone else? What will they do about it? Will the hate turn to love? Will the hate destroy the hater?

Try reading some of the Top Rated stories on Literotica and think about WHY they are successful.

Read Ogg.

:D

That could be dangerous advice. The newbie might find 'Breathless Stargazing' or 'The Worst Chain Story Ever Chap.01' and be scarred for life.

;)

Yes. Listen to Ogg.

Welcome, Brittany!

Good for you for having the bravery to do this!

I echo everything said by everyone on this thread. You'd do very well to write the entire thing out yourself first, avoiding the roleplay stuff. That way you'll be able to spell and grammar check more easily.

THEN ask someone else to read it, see how it flows.

You have sweet and sexy ideas. See what you can do writing longer scenes.

Good luck!
