EU ready to open talks on us joining the Single Market. Boris might be back in two years, but not as a Conservative.

The conspiracy theories will abound.

Rejoin single market solves the ni issue.
Solves the staff issue a lot of places are struggling with. Does away with all the fucking shit the erg has imposed on us in the name of what exactly.
There have been no brexit bonus what so ever. But he is a brexit fan. But hopefully he is a pragmatist.

That's the big hope, that he's less of a Tory nutter than we have been exposed to.

I wonder who he will have in his Cabinet?
I do hope he can speed up the workings of the Standards and Privilege's committee and we can watch BJ tries with weasel words to shift the blame to someone else. then when that fails watch as he resigns and slopes off rather than gets publicly sacked.
Then he can host the UK infowars show.

Rejoin the single market? Haven't you been watching as the EU implodes? The EU we left was already struggling. They are in a worse state now because we are not paying a large amount of the bills.

Macron is facing strikes, blackouts, and riots about his policies. He daren't hold a French version of Brexit because he is afraid that he would lose.

Germany is rebelling about paying for everyone else, especially small uneconomic French farmers under the Common Agricultural Policy. France and Italy and Poland have dramatically shifted to the right with many anti-EU parties.

The EU is increasingly unpopular with member states - and you want us to rejoin an institution that could expire within the decade. The EU would only consider us rejoining if we were to pay more than we used to before we left. We can't afford to spend billions to prop up other EU countries.

Cruella Braverman's back
Yes here come the new faces that will lead us to the economic uplands.
The dream lasted a whole 3 hours.
Sink the small boats
Mine the beachs
Take our of jurisdiction of the European Court of human rights 'Never mind the arch tory Churchill helped found it.
Fuck it

Red Wall voters are already changing allegiance to the Reform Party.
They were changing even while Boris was still PM.

That is why there will NOT be a general election.

The Tories have a 71 seat majority. They know they would lose many seats if there were to be a General Election now - which of course is why Labour wants it.

It is very difficult for any fourth (or third - the Lib Dems) to make more than a marginal difference in our two-party system. Look at the rise and fall of UKIP.

They would have to field credible candidates in every constituency and have a reasonable manifesto that is very different from Labour or Conservative.

The inertia in the system - voters voting for one party because they always did and their parents did, makes some seats almost impossible to win against that party.

What the Conservatives did in the Red Wall was almost unprecedented. Even if the Tories hadn't been in such a mess, they would expect to lose some if not most of those seats in a standard General Election.

Despite frantic calls from Labour, the SNP and others, the Conservatives will NOT hold a General Election now when they are at their lowest point. It would be suicidal when they have a 71 seat majority. Of course, Labour wants one now. Their poll rating is the best it has been for years. In a couple of years' time, if stability and some economic prosperity can be achieved, the Conservatives would go into a General election with reasonable prospects of maintaining a smaller majority, but still a majority. If they fuck up? They're finished for probably a decade and Labour in government would fall apart with the unresolved internal divisions.

I do fear that you are right.
Despite the "mistakes" - she will prove to be a useful idiot - sorry we cant afford the tripple lock cause of mistake the previous pm made - sorry we cant uplift benefits by the rate of inflation due to - sorry we cant affored to extend the fuel cap past april due to yes you have guessed it.
meanwhile the speculators enjoy their hard earned gains.

i gave that a 'like' not because i liked what you said but appreciated its truthiness

There's little reliable polling evidence to support that as most voters are now concerned about the cost of living crisis and rampant inflation. So if the Tories lose votes at the next GE then the 'Reform' party will only garner enough votes to split the extreme right wing vote which would benefit Labour and to some extent the Lib Dems and Green party.
Reform like Ukip will take votes from the Torys, but not enough to get any MPs.

And the Tories would expect to lose most of the Red Wall seats anyway. Another party in the contests there could make the results unpredictable. Those who changed from Labour, or were still with Labour, might go to Reform or the Lib-Dems (or even Green and waste their votes).

did you know this? i just found out today:

Narration in the British BBC version was entirely new and bears no resemblance to the French version. It was created by Eric Thompson from just the visuals, without any translation of the French scripts by Serge Danot.

Didn’t know it was French

I found this out a few years and watched a few originals, nowhere near as entertaining.

So much so, that the French reissued it with French translations of the English version...

Asterix was and is French, there is even a French theme park for Asterix. But the puns in French didn't translate to English (or German or many other languages) so the different language versions are not translations but retellings in another language.

Also many years ago, I used to play in the house band for a then well-known London club. We had a whole set based on TV themes. It went over a treat. :)

Can we have a rendition please? What was the name of the house band in the then well-known London club, whose name was? Do we have a rock start amongst us?
