New search engine

Can someone tell me how to use the new search engine? I can't figure it out. I just want to see all the stories posted within the last week by selected category. Any help would be appreciated.

I suspect the problem is only with the week and month options in the advanced search. When I put an asterisk in the search box and search for stories posted any date, in the past three months or later, I get results.

From what I've seen, many people are having problems with the new search, so I'm guessing they're well aware of the kinks and working on them. Short of waiting, my advice would be to contact them through the link in the Search FAQs. If you don't get results from that, PM Manu and perhaps he can point you in the right direction.

You are having better luck than I. If I just do a plain search, only using the advanced search to sort by date, the most recent results are from August. Not a single September story accessible. They should bring back the old search while they are fixing the bugs on the new one.
