New postage stamp style

Did anyone else buy the Snowman stamp for your Christmas cards? It comes in the regular self stick sheets, but also in a new style of stamp that the postal service is testing. They look like a roll of scotch tape, only they are stamps. And they are a pain in the ass! Or is it just me? They don't roll well and the thing is hard to even open to get them started. Maybe it would work better without the dispenser...

I shoulda bought the regular sheets.

You better give them some feedback, or they'll start to think it's a good idea and make all the stamps like that.

I haven't seen them myself yet.

Why do all your posts extend so far to the right? Your margins are set differently somehow?

The stamps came with a postcard to give feedback. I think I'll wait until I've used more than 4 of them though to send it in, just in case being a newbie caused me to have user error problems with these new-fangled stamps. Even stamps deserve a second chance. :D

Hmmm.. Think I'll ask for a sheet anyway.

Snowmen, huh? I haven't yet seen this year's choices for Christmas Stamps.

I would, too, if I had a choice. The sheets are easier.

The snowmen stamps are cute! Little, but cute. I didn't like the religious stamp choice again this year, like most years. It is Mary and Jesus with the halos on their heads. I know Christmas is a religious holiday, but I usually am more comfortable with the non-religious stamps.

I hate getting holiday stamps. I invariably end up with too many, and by next year the price is higher so I can't use them without a "booster" stamp.

I'm completely out of stamps, though, so I need to buy some. I pay all my bills via on-line banking, so I just don't need many. In fact, it's been so long since I lost bought stamps that I don't even know how much they cost. They were 33 cents when I last bought them (I bought loads of the 40 cent breast cancer stamps a few years ago, to allow for the ever-increasing stamp prices).

You missed 34 cents as we are now up to 37 cents. But, no more increases for 5 years is what I read somewhere. We'll see.

I will send in feedback on the first roll of 100 to tell them that this new stamp style SUCKS. I refused to even open the second roll. Yesterday, I took it back to the post office and exchanged it for normal sheets of stamps instead. I also warned everyone in line to buy stamps to NOT buy the rolls, stick to the sheets.

Has anyone else tried these rolls yet? They don't roll, they stick tight in the dispenser! The stamps don't rip off along the perforation, either. Except when you don't want them to.

Nope, I have never tried the rolls but this thread did get me thinking about something else relating to postage.

I have never been interested in stamp collecting, however, a few recent issues made me rethink the idea. It is really difficult for me to send Cary Grant away on an envelope! I wanna keep him all to myself.

But the funniest thing is, whenever I buy new stamps, I usually just take what they give me. It just dawned on me how funny it is to use a flower or "LUV" stamps when I pay the utility companies or any of my other bills! And I still write lots of personal letters and thank you notes and invitations besides bills, so I always need stamps.

Maybe I will just stick with American flags from now on.

Exactly the ones I bought extra yesterday in addition to the Christmas stamps. :)
