New name - same guy

I let people dissuade me before, so this time I just did it without asking. I changed my Lit. logon name, but kept my old sigline - maybe you will recognize me from that. ;-)

I did this because I was getting tired of my old logon name, I felt it no longer really described me (especially here), and I wanted to put up a website with my new logon name.

If you don't like it, tough! Get used to it.

I don't like switching IDs willy nilly, but I would prefer that everything matchup namewise for the website, Blurty and all.

So, does anybody know of any free or close to free website hosts which don't do banners? I am not at all happy with the one I am on as it is slow and undependable.

Yes, I was SummerRose. However, the nick name Summery stuck, and just about everyone called me Summery most of this year. I needed a change, and just didn't want to be in the Lit Rose garden anymore. I think the name Summery is fitting. I thought about it for many months before I changed. I believe my blurty journal is Summery too!

Well, debating/arguing philosophy often helps me think deeper about a subject/topic, and I rarely am into it to try to convince/convert the person I am debating with. I do it more for myself because I usually enjoy it, and I think lurkers and fence sitters should hear the other side.

Plus I am just plain anal retentive - I will get just as much fulfillment out of expounding on some technical point as I do from debating the big picture. It is almost like a compulsion to me when I see somebody stating something I consider to be wrong - I have to state what I believe to be true. I am kind of like those nerds on the Simpsons who argue endlessly about arcane Star Trek trivia, etc.

Oh I wouldn't want to bother here with that. Well maybe. The only thing I don't like about this right now is that I now have two IDs and I had to use a different email addy for this one. Once I get a website setup I will switch it to that email addy instead.

It may be confusing for people to see references to my quotes, posts etc. with the name STG when the post shows The Heretic instead, so I think it would be best to just leave it as is. It won't take me long to get up to where I can add an avatar anyway - I've been running without one for a while anyway. I forget, how many posts do I need?

My main thing is to put up a website that is referenced here - and I wanted the names to match. Right now I am looking for a free or almost free host that offers more advanced web site tools such as access to the htaccess file so I can compress my web pages, etc.
