New Milestones Thread

[StillStunned]

This week, it's two and a half years since I joined Lit and uploaded my first story.

To celebrate, just this week all my stories are available for free!

[lovecraft68]

I just “finished” the survivor challenge by posting https://literotica.com/s/chrissie-weekend-in-the-bush in Novellas. That means that this year I posted in every Literotica category (not counting Audio and Illustrated), and some of the stories turned out pretty good!

Damn, that's impressive. Good for you.

Even those in 2P PoV? Man, that's generous!

I had never noticed you had only been here for less than two years when I started. You seemed like part of the institution.

I'd say @StillStunned is an institution in and of himself -- the Department of Writing Exercises, to be exact.

My presence just seeps down into the past.

Writing Exercises is a Directorate-General under the Department of Distractions and Excuses. Other DGs include Legitimate Excuses (i.e. craft-related discussions), 2P POV and Nonsense.

I'm picturing this as a sort of cross between the Ministry of Silly Walks of Monty Python fame, and the Bureau of Sabotage from Frank Herbert's somewhat less known but excellent ConSentiency universe.

At least I'm not in charge of Arguments or Complaints.

Wowsers!!

I fell short of my milestone / goal for this calendar year.

Allow me to explain. In my family, 3’s are a huge, like magical number. My father born 3/3/19**, (a long time ago). I have three siblings born in March, three siblings with black hair, the other five and me, a total of six, have red hair. So I sit here at 129 stories published the first three years and three months since my first story. I was hoping for story 130 to hit … but it’s stuck in pending purgatory.

I guess 130 wasn’t meant to be for this year.

Well no, you met your goal. The fact that the story got stuck is outside your control. That kinda thing sucks, but you did your part, and that's all we can ever do.

Edit: Also 3 divides evenly into 129, whereas it doesn't into 130.

First real milestone - I’ve been published for a full week!

Here’s the link for anyone interested: https://www.literotica.com/s/peta-sam

4 star rating, currently, 1400 views, quite a few favourites - thrilled my first full novel has been received pretty well.

Still hoping for comments but maybe they’ll happen in good time.

Hmm the 3/129 … thank you, that escaped me.

I was a good nurse, math not so much

Fun fact! Add up the digits in the number, and if that's divisible by 3, the number is divisible by 3. 1 + 2 + 9 = 12, 1 + 2 = 3, 129 is divisible by 3.

As of today, I officially have 1 million views on my stories.

Before I posted my new story, I had it calculated to hit on or around 12/25, based on an average of 3000 views a week.

[Erozetta]

My Discord server just crossed over the 240 member mark. Over 60 Reddit erotica authors joined overnight and created a minor panic attack for me. I was not prepared for that.

I thought BuSab was Harry Harrison. Or certainly not Herbert because I haven't read any of the ConSentiency. Maybe it's a very similar concept that I've read somewhere.

I couldn't tell you if Harry Harrison has something similar in concept - I've never read anything of his - but BuSab is indeed Frank Herbert. I highly recommend it.

[ADirtyPerv]

I've posted 20 stories since June (all incest). When I started writing, it was to get my buzzy head to chill out, and I had no idea if I was any good. I've got 6 or 7 of those (depending on the day) above the 4.8 line, which turned into my goal somewhere in this process. It seemed like a rare thing, so it became my goal. Succeeding so often is weird and I usually think that I'm trash as an entire human, so I'm taking the opportunity to cheer at the milestone. 30% is pretty good, I think. Wheeee!?

[designatedvictim]

And... to pop in again, my most-read piece, A Week of Sunrises just eked out its 75001 74501 view.

*Edited because someone hasn't had his coffee yet, this morning. It was only 74501. Still, never thought I'd hit those numbers.

Some time in the night a 400th poor unfortunate soul decided to follow me. Now, on to 500!
I know, small potatoes compared to some of you... but as Geoffrey Chaucer said in Troilus and Criseyde, “as an ook cometh of a litel spyr”

Yes but it's large potatoes compared to others of us.

You write in some much more challenging categories or you'd probably be way ahead of me.
