My first, and as yet only, story crossed 200 votes! It also seems to have stabilized somewhat at 4.84.

I'm still supremely worried that I'm a talentless hack, and that I just happened to hit 200 people with extremely specific tastes.
But maybe that's ok, if I enjoyed writing and they enjoyed reading it.

I'm picturing this as a sort of cross between the Ministry of Silly Walks of Monty Python fame, and the Bureau of Sabotage from Frank Herbert's somewhat less known but excellent ConSentiency universe.

I fell short of my milestone / goal for this calendar year.

Allow me to explain. In my family, 3’s are a huge, like magical number. My father born 3/3/19**, (a long time ago). I have three siblings born in March, three siblings with black hair, the other five and me, a total of six, have red hair. So I sit here at 129 stories published the first three years and three months since my first story. I was hoping for story 130 to hit … but it’s stuck in pending purgatory.

I guess 130 wasn’t meant to be for this year.

Well no, you met your goal. The fact that the story got stuck is outside your control. That kinda thing sucks, but you did your part, and that's all we can ever do.

Fun fact! Add up the digits in the number, and if that's divisible by 3, the number is divisible by 3. 1 + 2 + 9 = 12, 1 + 2 = 3, 129 is divisible by 3.

I thought BuSab was Harry Harrison. Or certainly not Herbert because I haven't read any of the ConSentiency. Maybe it's a very similar concept that I've read somewhere.

I couldn't tell you if Harry Harrison has something similar in concept - I've never read anything of his - but BuSab is indeed Frank Herbert. I highly recommend it.

I've posted 20 stories since June (all incest). When I started writing, it was to get my buzzy head to chill out, and I had no idea if I was any good. I've got 6 or 7 of those (depending on the day) above the 4.8 line, which turned into my goal somewhere in this process. It seemed like a rare thing, so it became my goal. Succeeding so often is weird and I usually think that I'm trash as an entire human, so I'm taking the opportunity to cheer at the milestone. 30% is pretty good, I think. Wheeee!?
