New Milestones Thread

I am approaching eleven years here but still cannot consider myself an old-timer (almost like living in those small rural towns where it takes three generations before the locals consider you a ‘native.’)

But my 100th story just landed, a Pink Orchid entry, a century mark, and I am grateful for Literotica’s existence and the opportunity it gives us all to mind-dump our subversive sub-conscious out into the eroto-sphere. And a space to hone the edges of our crafting tools and put our creations out there to be seen.

I‘ve also been doing Yowser Yelp reviews in the Story Feedback forum for a year now formally, and have completed seventeen extended (1k words or more) reviews in that time, not always to everyone’s satisfaction. Although interest in tough-love reviews has dropped off of late, I have enjoyed the opportunity to dissect and discuss writerly practices and executions.

A milestone of sorts. I finished a draft of the first chapter of my non-erotic novel. This is a project that I keep shelving in favor of the short-term rewards of one-off erotica stories, but a friend made an off-hand comment about it which got me going again. No doubt I'll massively rewrite it, but it does feel good to have the draft down.

I just had my seventh piece published, and right after it went live I realized that I have my first plot hole. The characters are watching a movie that won't be released for three years. I plan to re-use one of those characters in a later story, and now I either need to de-age her by a few years (and correspondingly de-age another character as well) or just accept a small temporal impossibility. Rats!

Here’s a different sort of milestone. Once you have been writing here a while, you probably experience the flurry of Favorites all at once from a reader. They obviously haven’t figured out how to make their own private lists and are just using Favorites as a Read Later function. But five or six favorites all at once feels nice.
But I just had one new follower put FOURTY FOUR pieces on their list at the same time...

Nice, that beats my record of twenty-seven. Congrats. It's a pretty sweet feeling.

It’s never too late for a story to introduce time travel.

Technically, it was for my seventh published piece, but all the others were in the same series.

The milestone(s)?:

In four days, it's my most favorited, most commented-on, most voted on, and most viewed.

Almost double the combined views of the other six pieces, 20.4K+.

Almost triple the most voted-on piece, 150 votes. (Although I'm pretty sure vote 149 was a 1. :ROFLMAO: )

Almost triple the favorites of the other six combined.

A lot of milestones on one story.

I was actually surprised that it took until there were over 18K views before someone took issues with the comments I made on the Star Wars movies.

Had a couple of milestones lately.

Firstly, I got Stacnashed... fairly gently, I felt, with some useful observations in her (?) comment. But it definitely felt like a rite of passage, a hazing if you will, that I feel could have gone much worse!

Secondly, I had two more number 1 stories...

Of course, they stayed there for all of half a day, before the top list troll shot them down. Still, they went to number 1! Can't take that away from me! (There's also a delicious irony, in that before October last year 4.92 wouldn't have got into the top twenty, let alone number one. They only made it there because somebody has been obsessively down-voting the Lesbian top list. Thanks troll! You made those number ones possible!)

Thanks to everyone who read and voted.

I have achieved the giddy heights of 200 followers.

I feel great, seeing as one commenter the other day suggested that I should just email my stories to my so few followers.

Thanks to those who do follow my writing :)

Edit...slightly creepy, my new follower...is a new account...and just following me...hmmm
