New Milestones Thread

[StillStunned]

For a while this afternoon I had 300 followers. But my newest acolyte unsubscribed within a few hours.

I'm sorry that the experience wasn't what they'd expected.

They were stunned, just... not anymore.

How do you know who unfollowed you? I don't recall every seeing when I lost a follower who it was. And I don't know where to look to see who follows me.

At 98 now. I don't figure I'll get more until I publish something here again.

Just went from 98 to 101.

Whoop!

(Still waiting for my story with 98 votes to get to 100 though. I think it's been a week.)

In your control panel, you can click "Following". That gives you two choices: "Following" and "My Followers". If you go to the last page (there are ten followers per page) it shows the actual number, not the number in your control panel - or even the number that shows up as "My Followers".

Anyway, I was on 299 followers and got a message that I had a new follower. But when I went to check the list, their name wasn't there.

[MillieDynamite]

OIC, didn't know that.

[StillStunned]

After the false start earlier this week, today I reached 300 followers.

I never realised this.

It's cool, and that page also shows you how many people your followers follow... so you can see at a glance which of your followers have more 'exclusive' following lists hehe.

Just for shits & grins, I looked at my stats today. The last time I looked was 11/11/2023.
Sometime after the first of the year, I exceeded 1 million views (1.048,848)
Those 1M+ views garnered:
-14,279 votes (1.36%)
-226 comments (0.02%)
-My average rating is 4.6

From a pessimistic viewpoint, I feel like I'm whispering into a hurricane.
From an optimistic viewpoint, I impacted 14,279 readers enough to garner a vote, and 229 to comment (though a few of those are my comments).
Ultimately, what matters to me is that I'm enjoying this.

That is pretty cool, I hadn't noticed that.

This one feels special, though maybe they just happened to accidentally click the 'follow' link only once in 19 years:

I discovered that one of my followers is following over 4,000 others

Ah, but they're following you, too! There are hundreds of thousands of stories on the site, written by maybe tens of thousands of authors, and this person found one of yours and followed it. That ain't nothing.

1,000 posts on Xitter.

I should be ashamed, right?

At least my 1,000th was about octopuses .

Congrats Emily!

Well, I now have 5 stories (or, rather, chapters of stories) in the Lesbian Sex Hall of Fame.

It probably won't last, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts!

I recently passed 100 days of publishing (subtracting the says my first stories were taken down by a false allegation of plagiary) and I have been tracking some of my metrics. Thought I would share on this occasion.

In that 100 days I have published 5 stories in 2 series for a total of 43K words, received 202 favorites, 1224 votes with a weighted ager of 4.66 and converting views to favorites at 0.22% and votes at 1.35%. Given the consistency across the story metrics I am pretty content that my writing is holding up even if the interest in my first series is naturally waning with each new installment.

Attached is a snap shot of the metrics I have been keeping if anyone is interested.

[MillieDynamite]

My total viewed count inches toward half a million, 492,969.

The catapults are being loaded as we speak. But well done for now.

And now I'm back down to 299. It's an emotional rollercoaster.

Sometimes, to really get over that follower hump, all you need is that one more, well-timed, 3k word incest story.

I'm pretty sure that my handful of incest stories got me about 290 of those followers.

But just a second ago someone new started following me. So 300 again! I might need a lie down after all this excitement.

Maybe it's the same person. They're just following then unfollowing until you have your Here's Johnny moment and snap

I think it's actually an external manifestation of the battle between my conceit and my self-doubt.

Oh, it was wonderful while it lasted. For the sweetest of moments, I was hot and perfect.

My story "Pictures of Her" is officially the 120th all time highest rated story in Romance with over 500 votes. Doesn't sound like much, but that is out of almost 24K stories, puts it in the top 0.5 percentile. And actually, it is in a 66 way tie for 78th.

Not number one, or any of the more realistic big things like top ten or top hundred, but it feels like an accomplishment. At least it's an indication that maybe I know what I'm doing with this.
