What's this? You prefer your women blind? Kinda shushpishoush, if you ask me... (Don't ask me and it won't be suspicious.) :D Unfortunately, I don't wear my glasses just to be cute (although I must say... I look quite adorab- ok, sorry, I'll stop while I'm ahead), I wear them because without them I am blind as... well, something really blind. But at least I get to be cute while being blind, right?

Ok, that'll be blinded by steam then... :p

Just so happens I have a thing for cute, so deffinatly keep the glasses :D

Nerds

Hey, im new to Lit so bare with me.

I am too a proud nerd/dork/geek girl. I have always been that girl ever since elementary school. But I was the one that would defend myself by beating up those who were popular and poked fun of me. I always dressed weird. Never really matched, most of the time wore mens clothing. (No im not a lesbian). And I love sci fi movies and am big into computers. Majoring in Computer Graphics and Animation. I do wear glasses, have beenwering them for 12 years now. Im 20 now and people tell me all the time that I am strange and weird and even been told I talk too much. So glad that there are tons of other female geeks out there. I think guys get intimidated by us too. They don't want someone smarter than themself, thats why they have to go out with ditzy girls. They know they can take advantage of them, and they won't even know it. Kind of sucks though, seeing all these guys and some won't even look your way. At the same time, most of them I wouldn't even want to date.

Out of all the female geeks, who dated in High School and went to Senior prom? I never dated, the guys were too immature, and didn't go to prom. The whole idea of prom queen grossed me out, too much of a popularity contest. Not into that.
Glad I be among fellow geeks!!!!

mandie

ummm, thought you had left lit, surprised to see you. anyway, glad you're still around and as far as

<Are you stalking me, Tri?>

nope, i tol ya don't do that

Welcome to Lit Sarcasm, pull up a chair, make yourself at home :)

I did date some in High School, I think the guys could overlook that I was smarter than them cause I had big boobs LOL
I also went to prom, but went with guy friends, think I had much more fun that way.

I also never quite fit in, I was more a tomboy, and always had guy friends rather than women.....but I liked it that way :)

Hugs,

Excelent idea...though I'd be willing to try different senses at one time  :rose:

Gotta say, Nerdy Chicks rule. This thread is jumpin, so obviously we don't need to consider us some outside group....seeing as there are so many of us in here together.

Sarcasm & nerdy? excelent combo there ;)

Mandie, let me know when ya gonna take over the world :D

Mystical ~ we gonna flirt like this over drinks?

Ok, lost the one who said he'd played D&D for 48 hours...no... can't top that for all at once, but did run a game once a week for over eight years. Does that count?

Well what do you consider a nerd?

In high school I was called a nerd because I always had my nose stuck in a book, and knew all the answers to test questions.

I do confess I love sci-fi, and generally don't care if people think I'm strange. I sing in the shower, even if others can hear me. I passionately love opera, which is my career, strangely enough. I attend Renaissance faire's, religously, and dream of one day actually working at one. I think that would be so fun.

And by the way, never been to a sci-fi convention but if the opportunity arose, I would go to one.

That was probably more info. than anyone needed!

Greetings, Goddess! I think you'd count as a nerd ... woohoo! another nerdy chick! :D

I highly recommend working a Ren Faire, loads of fun. Or do Pennsic one year. AND (to demonstrate just how much of a geek I am) I also recommend conventions, sci-fi or game, whichever is more your taste...

Hi Goddess :) I think you qualify....welcome to the club

I haven't been to a SciFi convention either, but sounds like fun. I am never without a book anywhere. And please, share as much as you like :)

Beautiful voice, imaginative, sci-fi fan(atic)?, attends Renaissance faires and likes sex (making assumption here as we are in Literotica). Green, I would love to listen to you in the shower, preferrably from behind as I am lathering you, making every attempt to hear you sing rapture.:nana:

Hi Guys--
This is my first post as a member :)
I was always the "nerdy jock" throughout grade school. I'm not sure why, though, because I only played two sports and I never studied. I don't think having natural intelligence qualifies as nerdy. All the boys were too busy trying to compete with me to notice what a nice, fun person I am and always was :( Oh well, their loss ;)http://www.elitehackers.com/dgsig1.gif

Nerdy Jock that rings true. I was a guy who played football listened to metal and never studied but got good grades. It is not who you were; it is who you are. Since then I've traveled the world, finished college, have had hard knocks, loved and hated... Intelligence is not nerdy.

Which brings up the question...who was it who identified you as a 'nerdy jock' (I have to admit, I don't remember that stereotype existing at my particular high school)?

And which also brings up one of my favorite Mike Myers quotes from _Wayne's World_:

"Was it Kierkegaard, or Dick Van Patten, who said, 'If you label me, you negate me?'"

Belated welcome

BTW, DeadGirl, welcome to the Literotica world. Here's to your first post, and hoping for many more to come...

<<n high school I was called a nerd because I always had my nose stuck in a book, and knew all the answers to test questions.>>

My kid thinks I'm a complete nerd, as if the triathlete stuff wasn't enough.... the other day he had a history assignment for homework and asked me offhand "Dad, what happened in 1891" I gave him an answer about a financial crisis involving overbuilt railroads and New York banks, he was flabbergasted so asked me two more dates, I was able with a little fudging to tell him something about two other years. New he calls me <Mr. History>.

I equate nerdism with visual clues, like poeket protectors, short sleeved ployester dress shirts and too short ties.... but really it's a state of mind...

GEG- what kind of cycling?

Ren Fests

OHHHH Those are lots of fun. I have gone to those every year since I was like 10 years old! And about 4 years ago, I was part of the cast. Was a pheasant, hehe. I was the one cleaning up around and mumbling to myself, hehe. But only did it once, ever since then I had a job and couldnt do it, :( But oh those are fun. One of my friends did it almost every year, she is the one that got me to go once.

As for Sci conventions, never been to one of those before, but again if it came up here I would definatly go. Living in FL, they have Super Soap weekends. Im not big on soaps, but I do collect autographs, and that was a great place to get some. They have it every year in Nov at MGM studios and Universal Studios and I also believe Epcot, could be wrong. That was somewhat of a convention, I think:confused:

And to the person who said they were a nerdy jock, I could consider myself that, I did play basketball in High School my Sophmore and Junior year of HS. But quit b/c the girls on the team were complete snobs. I was the only Nerd there, so as you can tell I didn't fit in.
Mysticcal, yeah tomboy here, still am. Never find me in shorts or a dress or skirt, YUCK! Never wear make up, that stuff smells horrible. And I have to admit, I still wear polyester button up shirts from the Mens Shop JcPennys, lol. But it accents my breasts. Been told by my many gay males that I have big ones.... for a gay male, he sure has a thing for breasts, have no idea why but does.

My wife told me that in High School she would deliberately act ditzy and dumb so guys she wanted to sate would ask her out. But by the time she was at UT she thought, "They can kiss my ass if I am too smart for them." I was shocked to know that a girl would act dumb to date a guy. I have no intrest in a pair of tits that talk. I want a woman smarter than me, to challenge me in all areas. A good relationship should be mutually challenging intellectually, sexually, emotionally, spiritually and several other "ally's". Otherwise they get boring, why do you think the divorce rate is over 50%? Sex only gets you so far!

I say, you go girls! Be smart! And don't let us get away with any bullshit.

Mandie

Well, that is an open invitation. I propose a survey --in the name of science

Hypothesis: Your own undergarmet preferences are similar to those of the general "nerdy" girl population.

Study design:
a) Find a population of women who want to talk higher theories of some sort, and who don't dress like a model
b) Inform them of the study goals (so as not to get the observer (me) arrested)
c) Ask if they would mind opening their top for a visual inspection
d) Undertake a tactical inspection for softness of material
e) Divide groups into plain lumpy white back closing bras vs all other varients

Bin the data into the two groups and determine which population is the largest.

Hows that sound?
;)
