Nerds?

All true, and good points. Marvel Studios (now part of Disney) understood that character development and story were just as important as action/ special effects. That's what made Phase 1 work so well.

I still think DC is trying to jump the gun, and go right to the finish line, instead of build their universe.....

No, I think Warner Brothers see this as a movie fad that'll be gone by 2020 and want to cash in now.

maybe, but WB hasn't had the best track record in that regard (see Superman 3 and 4, and the last 2 Batman movies of the 90's)

Wait wait wait, DC remade nuclear man from S4 and tried to pass him off as Doomsday..... The fucks they give is zero.....

Getting so deep in sci fi or comoc conversation that a naked girl can walk by and I wouldn't notice

LOL. If she's the right one she would be right in here debating the topic herself. :D

The DCEU movies will probably make money, but I don't think they'll stand the test of time. Even though these are both comic giants the Marvel movies are more expertly crafted. Partially because Marvel studios has this down and partially because DC is cutting corners trying to play catch up because neither studio knows when these movies will stop making money. But looking back 8 years iron man is still enjoyable to watch, the stand alone batman movies (which is not canon to the DCEU), are still enjoyable to watch but I don't think the superman movies will be. Wonder woman is going to be stupidly controversial when in reality it'll be harmless and I think they'll fade away because both DC comics and the DC movies keep rebooting.....

that I think will be the downfall of comic movies; the constant reboots, each time trying to retell the same story....Spider-man/ FF/ Batman/ Superman have all suffered from this

This. 'Show me da money' is what seems the main thinking. THere's been enough material published even in recent years to give Miller's Batman a break and to actually push some continuity without everybody needing to tell their own story. I get it... everybody has their own protagonist/antagonist and everybody wants to position their character because... OMG can I do one more?!

But it *does get* tiring.

Doesn't matter anymore nowadays. Definitely not with how trailer studios stalk the internet, subreddits and other comic communities. The trailers we get are literally [strike]tailored[/strike] edited to the feed to the questions of the communities and geeks.

Proof in the Puddin': SS set a Fandango presales record, that despite horrible reviews and even in the trailers visible horrible acting performance. I usually stay away from trailers because they just tend to be the best two minutes available. DC and WB do their ultimate bestest [sic] to confirm that time after time. Who needs Bayhem if you have DCEU?

On another note... anybody here reads Nightwing? How do you like Seeley's rebirth run so far?

Morgan Spurlock series "Inside Man" on CNN is airing an episode on pro video gamers. I had no idea it was that big.

So.

Farscape?
Stargate?
seaQuest?

Anyone?

Farscape - LOVE
Stargate - the original movie & series, yes. Never got into the others.
SeaQuest - don't think I've ever watched.

I have to admit to loving Firefly & Serenity though!

Tell us more! (I rarely watch tv.) I think the top gamers can earn half a million dollars a year?

I remember just having a gaming fan site, a popular ad company offered me $20k to put a tiny ad on the top of the screen plus monthly revenues based on clicks. I turned them down.
