You and your Lucca! *cries* I'll just never be good enough for you, will I?! Fine! Just leave me for her! I won't care! *runs away*

I would never leave you for Lucca dearest.... Lucca wouldn't look as good as you would in a maid costume anyways ^_~ besides you already left me for one of the Tekken fighters remember?

As you know, love, I finally got around to playing it last semester. I really did like it, it has great replay value, which most RPGs don't really have anymore. I love the alternate endings (one reason why I like Star Ocean 2 was because it was in the CT vein). Although it's not my favorite RPG since I wasn't a child of NES and SNES, I was raised on Playstation RPGs, and therefore (as much as you guys will probably bash it), my favorite two games (besides the Lunar remake, which doesn't really count, I guess) and FF7 and FF9. So say what you will. :p

Playstation to me was like the return of Super Nintendo. Finally a system that was popular and that RPG's flourished on. My heart may lay with the super nintendo, but the playstation still amazes me with RPG's that keep my interest even now.

And your right, Lunar doesn't really count since it wasn't originally released on Playstation, may the Saturn rest in peace...

Speaking of really cool PSX RPGs, have any of you ever played "Legend of Legaia"? That game was really cool, and had a really interesting battle system. There's a sequel out for the PS2, but I haven't been able to play it yet. The back of the box looks cool though.

So? That doesn't count. I can leave you for sexy fighting game guys, but you can't leave me for someone who's more like you than I am. ;) *tease*

Never played the full game, but I had a demo disk that had basically the beginning of the game on it, but with the three main characters instead of just the blue haired dude. I like how the battle system was a fighting game/turn based hybrid. I thought that was pretty cool. I read that it was a hard game, though, and hard games scare me. :(

I have, but only about 2 hours into it. I loved the game but my brother scratched the CD so I never could get it to stop skipping past a specific spot. It took a little while to get used to the battle system, but overall I liked the game. Unique premise.

Anyone here ever play the original Wild Arms? I loved that game, I still humm the opening theme.

I haven't played the game myself, but I have heard many a good things about it. What system is it for again? I may have to look into it.

PSX. Great game, and worth it. Not the most graphically stunning, but it gives me a feeling like it could have been one of the super nintendo classics (the graphics are much better then super nintendo, but you catch my meaning I hope).

Chrono Trigger is easily the second or third best RPG ever made. Right behind FF6, and it's a toss-up for second with FF4.
I guess I'll be the odd man out since I was and still am more of a Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior in US) fan as my favorite CRPG. Chrono Trigger I played when it first come out in the US and I thought it was good, but definitely not the object of worship that many have elevated it to. While I like FF games prior to FF7, I much prefer Dragon Quest, Ultima, or even Xenogears to them. Hell, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (Xbox), Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind(PC), and Record of Lodoss War (Dreamcast) are better IMO than any FF from VII through X-2. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Lunar was Sega CD, but I agree that the Saturn was a right nice system. I weep for it almost as much as I weep for the Dreamcast.

Legend of Legaia was a very cool game, but I would stay away from the sequel as it will leave a bad taste in your mouth. :(

Quote me if I'm wrong but wasn't Lunar 2 out on Saturn while the original was out on Sega CD? You would probubly know better then I since I never owned a Sega CD. I still weep for the Saturn as well, some games I personally think are great died with that system. Dreamcast was a shame too, it never had a chance to live up to it's potential. Casualties in the console wars...

Silver Star and Eternal Blue both came out on Sega CD before the Saturn was even released. :)

I haven't been able to get ahold of the PS1 version of Eternal Blue, but I really want to find a used version or something. The first one is probably my favorite RPG that I've played, hands down. It made me laugh, it made me smile, it made me weep my little heart out. I just had such a warm feeling after watching it.

I was never much of a Dragon Quest fan myself, though I played Ultima on the Atari 2600. God that was a long time ago... good game for the time, I played bits and pieces of the newer ones but never through to the end. Just never had the desire.

Don't even get me started on Xenogears, any game with Lucca in it immediatly get my attention. Great game for more then just the CT easter egg. If we are tending a bit more towards action/rpg then pure RPG I would have to say the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain would have to be mentioned. Actiony but with a storyline I could really get behind, and a nice twist at the end. Gotta love it. Hehehe... I made a Soul Reaver version of Vampire: the Masquerade for my friend who was obsessed with the game. This post just reminded me of it. I wonder if I can dig it up someplace...

I never was a huge fan of the Dragon Warrior series, but I still have my orignal NES DW1 cartridge here.

I do, however, remember spending hours and hours playing Ultima: Quest of the Avatar for NES. I have no idea why but I was just obsessed with that game. I could never get all of my anks (sp?) lit up so I could never beat the game, but I can remember I was so powerful I could take out the king with no problems. I miss that game.
