Tromby, that you?
High-Five!
On an unrelated note: ENDEX!
(For those of you not in the Air Force, this is one of the happiest words an Airman can hear. Short for "End Exercise", meaning that this week of 12 hour shifts in chem-warfare gear is DONE!)
Of course, now we start getting ready for the *next* exercise. -_-
Thank you, Tex, and good to hear that your exercise is done. Hopefully, you'll get some time off to have some fun for a bit.

It really doesn't look like a fair fight. I mean, Kirk doesn't even has both of his arms tied behind his back!![]()
Indeed. But let me regale you with a tale. A tale of a date gone exceptionally well. A date that I had tonight, in fact, and with a girl who, if she frequented these forums, would feel most at home in this thread.
So I met this girl online, on a terrible dating website that will not be named. Originally, what drew me in was her cute pictures and the fact she liked Dr. Who, Torchwood, and the Dresden Files and was not afraid to admit it. So we started talking, and I found out a bit about her, and the more I found out, the more I liked.
So we decided to plan to meet. She proposed meeting at Starbuck's. I said sure, but then looked where we were meeting, and decided that we should probably meet somewhere else, given we were meeting right after work. So I suggested dinner, and she agreed. I called her the night before meeting her, and while it was a bit awkward, it was nice, and she had a nice voice.
So the day came, and I went over to the restaurant after work. I peered in to make sure there was enough seating for the two of us and saw a girl at a table who was quite attractive from behind. She was a bit chubby, but that's great, so am I and I don't mind that. So I stood outside for about five minutes, waiting for her to show up. She texted me asking where I was, and I said outside. She told me she was already inside, so I went inside to meet her.
She was damn attractive. Incredibly cute face, and everything she had complemented her, including her glasses. I sat down, and we talked. We ate and talked. Drank and talked. Sat and talked. We talked for two hours. We talked about a whole range of things, and I found out that while she hasn't seen Babylon 5, she's seen a number of other shows, and loves so many that I do. She loves the original trilogy of Star Wars (without the SE changes), the Indiana Jones trilogy (without the fourth one), BSG, ST:TNG, and a bunch of others.
So we parted ways after two hours, her to take the LRT home, and I to take the bus. I got home, and checked my e-mail, and she had sent me an e-mail to make sure I knew that she had a great time and really wanted to see me again.
I really like this girl.
Sounds better than I am doing with the girl I am trying to get a date with. Lets just say its not the best time of the year to try to get a date with a tax accountant.
Ah, if only it had gone as well afterwards for me. See, she decided within the span of a week that she would rather date someone who worked in a field similar to her own. Which left me SOL.
sorry to hear that.
It was one date. I felt bad for about a day, then my friend cheered me up, I stood up tall, and moved on.

No no, this is terrible! That poor girl has no idea what she missed out on!![]()
