Well the girl in question is someone I don't like in a lot of ways, so the fact that he's been with her kind of bugs me, largely cause I don't find her attractive at all.

But she's poly, and I know isn't looking for a relationship with him, and I don't see how he could want one with her, to be honest. Not to say I'm looking for one either, I'm just interested in meeting someone new, and seeing where it goes. But I wouldn't seek more than a friendship if he is still seeing her in any capacity. But from all I've talked to him, he's smart, funny, interesting, totally my type looks wise, and he's the first guy I've been interested in meeting and seems to reciprocate in a while, so we'll see.

Good luck in this venture Vessy! I hope it works out, but be wary of men who were interested in women you can't stand. It could be indicative of what kind of person they are. Though on the other hand we are all capable of some dumbass attractions, I know I have had a few in the last couple years that I highly regret now. Maybe she was his.

Gah!!!

Maybe he was just horny. Men are like that sometimes v.v" Also, to him- he might think that the poly's a plus. ( Think about it, he's prolly thinking Poly= she doesn't mind me dicking around!!!) This doesn't sound good Vessy-chan, it really doesn't, especially if you don't know if he still considers her as a fuck buddy.

I say just ask him upfront. Just ask him if he's seeing anyone. See what he says. If you're really that interested in him, then it's your choice. I just really don't want to see you get hurt is all : (

Unfortunately, the Kink community in Atlanta is really small and incestuous I guess. We'll see, I haven't made any final decisions about it, but even if it was just "sex" it kind of makes me think less of him, but I know I shouldn't be that judgemental/hypocritical.

And it's not like I'm necessarily looking for a monogamous relationship. Maybe, I'm not really convinced they work in the long term, but who knows. All I know is I thought this guy was sex incarnate until I realized he'd been with her, and I feel bad because that makes me petty.

Maybe he has low-self esteem and doesn't think he's good enough for a relationship? Don't feel petty about it. Hell, when I became interested in CT, I thought he was the most perfect thing.. until he decided to tell me that he's been with triple digits. Lets just say that turned me off for a very, very long time. ( In a way, it still kind of irks me). I think us females make the man we have as a target set as the most perfect creature out there. Trust me, men are not. Far from it. All men are hiding a secret or two.. or three..

Gah! I hate men, and I love em. Maybe it's time to be a lesbo. :p

Time for the old married ladies to get the man and kids ready for the pig roast!

Well I know neither one of them was seeking a relationship from the other when it started, which was at a local BDSM convention. He knows that I know her, and while he and I haven't discussed their relationship (although that's a conversation that will be had in person if it comes to that point), but he knows I consider her an acquaintence rather than a friend. *shrug* He does seem really interested, but I don't know if ettiquitte states that I should mention it to her before meeting with him.

I say don't mention it to her. Depending on what kind of woman she is, she may use it to her advantage and become possessive of him<- something you would much rather like to avoid. I say, ask him directly- see the answer he gives you and cross your fingers and go by your gut feeling if you believe him or not.

Uh yeah, contact her. No need for any later conflict. A truly horny person with no ethics will be willing to say anything and try to juggle more than one relationship just to get their cake and eat it too. And then they'll lay the blame at your or the others' feet, depending on which one they think they can manipulate the easiest.

As humans we're all equipped with our various flaws and issues. That's life. I haven't put him on on some high pedestal or anything, but I see potential for at least having intelligent conversation and attraction and going from there. If they were in an actual relationship, even if it were a poly and/or open one, I would approach her before meeting with him, because that's how things are supposed to work, but while they're just Friends with occasional benefits....

*shrug*

They are not in a relationship. Not even close to it. He didn't try to hide the fact from me, and I didn't realize he was the person she had mentioned sleeping with (one of the many reasons I don't like her, she has no real sense of discretion when it comes to her sexual conquests, of which there are many) until after he and I started chatting casually.

If you feel that's the right thing to do, then do it ^_________^

You and me baby! Hot sex on the parlor floor right now!

It drives me insane! I have asked him over and over to stop or try to make an effort to stop doing these things, but it goes in one ear and out the other! I'm stuck with him because I don't want to back out on an agreement we made back in March ( he can live at my place til September 1st). UGH! And the worst thing is that whenever I tell him to try and make an effort, he either screams at me saying that "I'm not his mother" or gets even MORE depressed and does even more SHIT to bug me! This has also pissed off my other room mate to no end >.<"

Listen well, wonderful Nerd Kitty and friend...

There is a time for diplomacy and tact. It's vital to try them first, every time. It elevates us above barbarians; the ability to reason through problems and work together towards a greater goal and overcome mutual problems.

You have clearly made a reasonable attempt to coerce your irritating room mate into changing his ways. That failed.

Get your other room mate to sit down with you and room mate 3. Lay it out; change or be forcibly removed. I'm sure you don't want to renege on your offer, but he has overstepped his bounds.

You got it in one.

Vess, I'd never hurt your cat. I just didn't like 'em is all.
Plenty of things higher on the 'going to excise your tendons and hang you with them' list.

Empress and Vess, may you hunts be as fun as they fruitful!
