Most of the times our winters are bearable, with temperatures ranging from -10 celsius to -30. Sometimes we'll dip to -40, but that's normally the lowest it goes in the winter.

that's bearable? wow, i mean i'm not a winter person at all and to me 20 F is pretty goddamn cold (especially if there's a wind chill)

Calgary's weather is... unusual. Edmonton is normally much colder, as Rhyst can attest, but so far this year Calgary is "winning".

Ahh, the weather, god's gift to Canadian conversation... heh.

Yeah, Edmonton is normally colder than Calgary. Have to wear my long underwear!

really? that's interesting, i never knew that. i always thought it was one of those places that got his with -40 degree days during the winter.

i'll admit to not reading every single post at time, especially when i'd get home and there would be 10 new pages. kiss this, lick that, moan gasp, i get the picture

I'm feeling insulted now

Hello Pen  I'm doing well and yourself? Sorry to hear about you losing your match. Abby is curled up in my lap and she sighs for you, lol.

It's fine, it was a fun game and it helped me learn.

*scratches abby behind the ears* hey pup

*chuckle*

20 F.. that's around the -10 mark I believe. So, yeah, our bearable is your pretty goddamn cold.

For me, pretty goddamn cold is when it hits -40 + windchill. Then I don't go outside.

I went on a photo-shoot on Sunday morning, doing some winter landscape/christmas card shooting... I don't own long underwear, but my legs were fine anyway. My hands were pretty freaking cold by the time we were done though, wind cut right through my gloves. I need a pair of over-gloves for the next time I do a winter photo-shoot.

Or I need Calgary weather to smarten back up

:(

can i make it up to you?

-20 F is a fair bit colder than -10 C or -20 C. They only reach equivalency at -40.

not -20, just 20 which is -7 C

i'll never forget the time i went to morganville, south carolina on a business trip. it snowed about half an inch and the whole place came to a halt. delayed openings at work, schools closed, all that shit

Yay, I was pretty close :)

Our schools only really close if there are blizzards or extreme colds that threaten to kill people. Busses close down before schools actually do, because there's always a chance of a bus breaking down and leaving people stranded in the cold.

-7 C is nothing.

I remember hearing from a friend in Corpus Christi, TX that they had about that and the entire place came to a resounding stop and everything was closed.

We consider that a light dusting. It's not a big deal. It's a big deal if we have to shovel around our cars to get them out to work, but most places still don't shut down.

we get his with that kind of snow once every few years, but it's all relative i suppose. for us getting 6 inches is considered a blizzard whereas soe places consider that a dusting

I would love some ice-cream and another cup of tea

*gets you a nice warm cup of tea* milk? sugar? honey?

and what kind of ice cream do you like?

I lived in Louisiana for a year, and it snowed while I was down there, but all melted pretty much instantly... first off, they all blamed me for the snow, second off, they were all quite miserable about it :p

But nothing shut down.

Worst snow I've been in: Blizzard back in Manitoba. Had to get out of the house through the window to shovel out the door. Then helped neighbours by shoveling their doors.

Going to lay back down, rest the head some more. Be back later to stave off my boredom.
