Nerd Hook Up Thread

This song came up in my playlist: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEW8riKU_tE

Probably one of the most gut-wrenching, emotional albums I own is the second disc of the live album.

NIN, awesome

Good morning fellow nerds! Off for a bit at work and so I wanted to stop in and say hi. Is anyone here a Professor Layton fan? I've been playing these games on DS for a couple years now and love them. They do a great job of keeping all the riddles fresh and creative.

My best friend was a huge fan right after The Fragile came out, and then I really go into them. Been such a fan I even have the Closure VHS set.

I haven't yet myself, still obsessing over Chrono Trigger mostly. Love that game.

I've heard great things about that, but usually, by the time I finish one Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts game, another one is ready to come out. I try to spend the rest of my time playing games I can pick up and put down, like Layton or the Rock Band games.

Although recently I've been revisiting some old Zelda games. Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time are childhood faves.

Old Zelda games are great, but if you haven't played Chrono Trigger, you should. It is, quite simply, one of the best RPG's ever made, and definitely one of the best Square has ever produced, before they became Squenix (the port is really good, too).

Earthbound and Final Fantasy VI are two of my other favorites. Those three amazed me, and I've played each repeatedly since.

I want to play my Ratchet and Clank games again, but *sigh* they are lost at a friends house many miles away

I'll be sure to check it out! I've always heard good things.

Pen, I love Ratchet and Clank also, haven't thought about those games in years either lol.

I want to try out the God of War and BioShock series' as well... Any input on those? Also, is Fallout New Vegas to late to get in the series? Should I play the other ones first? Too many games!

Oh, and ever since the first concept art was published for it, Epic Mickey has been my secret crush. As a Disney obsessed person, I am head over heels for it, especially the chance to kill those damn kids from the Small World ride.

Bioshock = Awesomeness, I have never played God of War

Fallout, well I recommend playing them all, but they're all good, I hear great things about New Vegas

BioShock is great. God of War is good, if you like the hack-and-slash, although they are pretty fun. Play Fallout 3 or New Vegas, they're each with different characters as standalone games.

And NOBODY has a greater hate for the Small World robots than me. I was stuck in the middle of that ride for over an hour after it broke down, and the song repeating over and over again.

I, too, have been looking forward to Epic Mikey Stems from my love of Disney and the fun I've had with KH.

After taking a look at it, it doesn't seem like a bad game at all. Might have to check it out.

Have you seen the concept art with the EPCOT Spaceship Earth that looks like the Death Star in Return of the Jedi? Love it.

I can imagine. Same thing happened to me on Pirates of the Caribbean. A pirate's life is not for me.

No I haven't, but it sounds awesome.

That's great

Also, Pen I love the new AV! Surprised the heck out of me when I was watching The Gates and noticed the main vamp lady on there was Victor's daughter in Rise of the Lycans.

Yeah, Kate Beckinsale really became hot for me in those films.

I've never watched the gates, any good?

She is hot, but I wish they'd found a more attractive male lead for her.

It's kinda like a supernatural Desperate Housewives actually.
