I just picked up Labyrinth last year. No one is cooler than David Bowie in this movie.... Wasn't that one of Jennifer Connelly's first movies?

Hey I guess I miss adding my nerd Factor

I love cartoons since I can remember. I started my video game choices later in life. My first RPG was golden sun for the GBA

I love movies, I can quote from the 5th element to Happy gilmore.

I actually have a degree in 3D animation and actually I am working in a photography studio at the moment.

Its a 1986 Jim Henson film and yeah its one of Jennifer Connelly's first roles. She did have an earlier role in a great film " Once Upon A Time In America " by Sergio Leone the master of the spaghetti western. Also cant wait for Tron 2 to come out And The Goonies 25th Anniversary tomorrow.

I've noticed a growing trend of it now being cool to be a nerd or geek, which makes me sad face. Now you have everyone claiming they're a geek or a nerd because they watched Lord of the Rings or read a Harry Potter book. This is nothing against what anyone has said here, in fact i've not read many of the replies, it's just something i've noticed and felt like sharing.

I'm kind of a stealth-nerd. People don't realize how nerdy i am until we get into a discussion about physics or math or something...

I began my college career at Edinboro University and Penn State Behrend in PA. I had a dual major in Physics and Nuclear Engineering... I have since moved to southern Ohio and changed majors twice (Fast track MBA and then changed to Economics, my current major).

I watch a sickening number of films and i'm into all form of expressive art whether it be music, painting, sculpture, architecture, etc.

I love learning and don't think I ever want to stop my education. I longingly await the day i finish my masters but lament that I will either have to teach or step down to part time.

I want to have published works in Econometrics someday.

I currently tutor math, economics, and physics at my university.

I'm very into stand-up and love sarcastic humor. It is always a part of my everyday conversation.

I like a lot of animated shows but no Japanese anime... I just can't get into it.

I'm currently working on research into the effects of free trade with impoverished nations on the average american.

I like video games, board games, computer games, anime, math, science, computers, and, of course, the beautiful ladies of Gensokyo...nerdy enough?

To be more specific, D&D, Magic: The Gathering, Settlers of Catan, RPG's, strategy games, puzzle games...I really enjoy the classics, I think the golden age of video games was 1988-1996 or so, although there are good recent games too...Valkyria Chronicles, Dwarf Fortress, DoomRL, OpenTTD, Disgaea 3, and Phantom Brave (Wii) are some of the games I've been playing lately.

Diablo 2 is excellent, I've put many hours into that game...I've finished it multiple times, my favorite build is a frozen orb sorceress, it's all about freezing and kiting

Surprised no one's brought up the xkcd web comic yet...

I don't think there's one definition of what makes someone a geek or nerd, but you definitely have to be able to hold your own. That being said... Reading a book is not what makes someone a geek, it's being up to your elbows in analysis of that book and discussing it with others and then dressing up as your favorite character that makes you a geek (in the fandom way haha). I hate being a "Johnny Comelately" to new fandoms and work my ass off to know EVERYTHING before declaring myself a fan - which is how I know I'm a geek
