Mainly mysteries, some sci-fi fantasy. Light reading mostly although I am currently reading Anna Karenina before the movie comes out. I have heard enough about Russian agricultural theory in the 1800's to last a lifetime.

Since you like mysteries you should definitely read the Sunset and Sawdust book I mentioned. It is a bit of a mystery as are a lot of Lansdale's stuff. It is mainly either mystery or horror. I have not read Anna Karenina but I can imagine. A lot of classic literature will dwell on things like that way too long, I think. Doctor Zhivago is a good example.

What do you like about it over the Fire? I haven't really looked into it.

Smaller screen, feels a little bit bulkier, don't like the front-end they have (there are ways around it if you feel like rooting, apparently), limited app store. The Kindle Fire is very specifically for consuming media through Amazon, whereas the Galaxy Tab feels a lot more like you could feasibly use it as a laptop replacement (I actually did use it as one when I traveled to Japan this summer).

Good to know, thanks. I don't think I could give up my laptop though. The laptop will be a dinosaur one of these days, but I'll probably take mine to the grave.

Laptops do still have their place. I use mine for when I go to campus or home for the holidays, because you really just have to haul it one place and then set up shop. But if you want something you can carry around with you all the time, tablet would be a good way to go. I'm sure there are a lot of people who don't need the full power of a laptop, and would be just as well off with a high-end tablet.

Just got ambushed at my door by two cute guys, but not in a good/fun way. They were selling magazines and laying it on real thick. Nothing like hanging around your house in your robe after just rolling out of bed and having cute guys pop up >< fuckin' a. First there was flirting, then they turn and start asking if I can adopt them after seeing my awesome condo. Seriously? Either I'm hot and you want me, or I'm old and you want to be my kid because I'm awesome. IT CAN'T BE BOTH!

Oh well, at least they smelled good so now my condo smells good.

I got disappointed with Netflix. They are usually a season or two behind and I work at night, so I like to have something to watch to keep me company. I think I watched every B and D movie on that website.

They're not so bad, they got the last season of Dr. Who out just a month or two after it was done broadcasting. Sure they don't release episodes right after they air, but for most of the stuff I watch it goes up just shortly after the season is over.
