"...The errors of great men are venerable because they are more fruitful than the truths of little men..."

~Friedrich Neitzsche~

Neitzsche Flakes...

...it does a mind wonders.

One of my favorite quotes:

"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star."

– Friedrich Neitzsche

Does that ROCK or what?

OMG. I love that quote. :)

Geeze Lavender, i'm surprised that you like anything by "Fascist Freddy";)

Kind of goes hand in hand with one of my other favorite quotes:

"Every man and every woman is a star." -- Aleister Crowley

And reminds me of a Sly and the Family Stone song - "Everybody is a Star." Wonder if Sly was into Magick?

And Primal Scream's song "Star" with its refrain "Every brother is a star, every sister is a star"

We can only speculate on the causal relationships between these utterances. Had Patrick Cowley (who wrote for Sylvester) read Liber Legis? (Way cool that Pat and Uncle Al had the similar last names!) Was Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie influenced by Cowley or Crowley, both or neither?

For Crowley, "Each human being is an element of the cosmos, self-determined and supreme, co-equal with all other gods". Since "each star is unique" there can be "no standard goals or standard ways, no orthodoxies and no codes". Or to put it another way "you are a star - and you only happen once"

Everybody Is A Star
Sly And The Family Stone

Everybody is a star
Who can rain, chase the dust away
Everybody wants to shine
Ooh, come out on a cloudy day
'Til the sun that loves you proud
When the system tries to bring you down
Every hand to shine tonight
You don't need darkness to do
what you think is right

Ba pa-pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba
pa-pa ba pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba,
ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Everybody is a star
I can feel it
when you shine on me
I love you for who you are
Not the one you feel you need to be
Ever catch a falling star
Ain't no stopping
'til it's in the ground
Everybody is a star
One big circle going round and round

Ba pa-pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba
pa-pa ba pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba,
ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Ba pa-pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba
pa-pa ba pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba,
ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Ba pa-pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba
pa-pa ba pa-pa ba
pa-pa ba ba ba,
ba-pa ba-pa ba ba,
shine, shine, shine, shine

As interesting as Neitzsche is, I think one active thread on him at a time is plenty! *lol*

And that's the way of things here at Lit. I don't think I've ever seen a thread that didn't veer off subject at times... but hell, its all related.

please, Neitzsche was no facist

I don't know he might have been into faces.

Fascist though, no he was not a fascist, he was a philosopher.

And I only post the Flakes to see what other people think of my favorite author and some of the lesser know writings.

I will in the future try to contain the Flakes to LITesque threads about sex, relationships, male/female issues and erotica. I just posted that first thread as sort of a disclaimer. He was a great man and a little man.

You can judge for yourself on the content.

And the ba-pa's are great in that song.
