Some new neighbors moved in next door to me with a dog that constantly howls all day.

I'm not sure what breed it is, but holy fuck is it annoying!!!

Can I issue a complaint to the city and perhaps they can force them to get rid of it?

The previous tenants of that household were a family with three delinquent and malicious teenagers who frequently held loud parties at their house with 30 or more people and 10 cars parked outside, and they left cigarette butts, and beer bottles/cans/cups all over their front yard and mine. I also saw the cops called there on several different occasions, I'm assuming for domestic violence.

But maybe that was better than this fucking dog I have to hear.

It looks like they are renting the property, which means they don't intend to stay there permanently.

Karma is seeking you out for some revenge mikey. ;)

Let us know when the dog starts talking to you and issuing verbal threats or requesting you go for a full medical exam.

Join the force. Once you get a badge, you can go over there and shoot the bitch and nobody will bother you. And you can shoot the dog too.

My other neighbors (the malicious teens) once vandalized my property (they destroyed my mailbox and broke my car window) for absolutely no apparent reason (I never did anything to them).

Kids these days....

At the risk of troll-feeding...

Your city, town, county, parish, borough, whatever probably has annoying-dog ordinances. Our jurisdiction does. Our neighbors have loud, neglected dogs. We (or other pissed-off neighbors) call County Animal Control. They send the county's one AC officer occasionally. When he hears the dogs bark for 15 minutes he can write a ticket that costs them US$500.

Shooting or poisoning a noisy dog will only encourage the asshole owner to seek a worse replacement. Go after the owner's money instead.

Or ignite firecrackers in your ears. Then you won't hear barking, loud parties, sirens, etc.

I've been dealing with the same issue. On my days off, I get woken up by a constantly barking dog at 8:00 am. It's a good thing I don't have a gun. Apparently, the apartment manager said something to the neighbor. Now the dog is in a back room and it's not as loud. But if I get woken up again on a day off, I'll be making another complaint.

Have you considered poison? No idea what to use, but after you've ascertained it has killed the humans, go on over and let the dog off the chain. He'll probably go home with you and be your friend for life.

A little Benadryl in a hot dog can go a long way most times...

Nighty night puppy.

(Don't actually drug your neighbours dog, it'd be wrong.)

There are no bad dogs, only bad owners. If the dog howls all day long you can bet it's the owners fault.

Maybe the dog is practicing at home for an upcoming performance. You know, like someone who plays an instrument.

I agree with your statement. My dog is well trained and do the occasional, singular, "woof" every couple of months if he sees something he doesn't understand. Like when we temporarily put a bird bath or a bag of fertilizer on our back deck and he didn't see us put it there.

He's very chill.
