Need sexy music, but not just anything

I need some sexy, sensual music.

I'm trying to make a CD which I will take with me to a private "lingerie show" where I will watch two women getting it on for 30 minutes. I could just listen to the music they provide, of course, but I want a soundtrack that I can listen to later and bring back happy memories. Since this is for posterity, I want to get it just right, and so I have a list of guidelines that the CD will follow:

- Female artists only. Men's voices don't belong in my lesbian show.

- I don't want "love songs". These should be lust songs.

- I don't want songs by Melissa Ethridge or the Indigo Girls; that's "real" lesbian music, and there's a world of difference between real lesbians and the kind who put on a show for guys like me. Compare Ellen DeGeneres to Jenna Jameson and you'll see what I mean.

- The song should not be about a woman's longing for a man, or vice-versa. It need not be specifically about girl/girl sex (though that would be a plus); as long as the song doesn't actually specify gender, I can cheerfully assume it's about a woman.

- Nothing that's funny. Jill Sobule's "I Kissed a Girl" won't work, and for that matter neither will "Lesbian Seagull" from Beavis & Butthead.

- The music should preferably have a heavy, slow beat. Something that would be appropriate for a slow striptease or a quality porn movie.


Here's what I have so far. I wish I could provide actual samples of the audio. Those who are really interested can look them up on AMG:

1: "Lesbian Paradise", by La Fura Dels Baus.
The song doesn't specifically mention lesbians, but it's about sex and it's by a woman, about a woman. Plus, it has the right sound, and makes for a good intro.

2: "Theme to Great Expectations", by Mono.
The lyrics don't have anything to do with sex, but it's a very sensuous voice and it sounds great. This is from the 1998 movie with Ethan Hawke.

3: "Justify My Love", by Madonna.
I think everyone's probably heard this. I know Madonna has other songs that will work, but I want only one track by any given artist on the disc.

4: "Woman to Woman", by Fem2Fem
This is the best track of the disc, by far. Not only is it sung lustfully and with the perfect beat and sound, but it's actually about lesbian sex. I bought this CD on eBay specifically to add this song to the collection.

5: "Afterglow" by Da Brayne
Like the title suggests, this is a smooth and sensual track suitable for post-climax. It will be placed (optimistically) on the end of the disc.


That's what I have so far, and it totals about twenty minutes' worth of music. I'll need two or three more songs to finish out the disc. I'm planning on giving copies of the disc to the girls involved, just for grins - who knows, they might like it and would certainly have cause to play it again.

So... anyone got any suggestions for further music?

My very favorite song is intrumental - Larry Carlton, ''Sleepwalk''. It's like a 3:43 minute island vacation. There's a lot of great jazz that has the sensual thing going on.

I know the one you mean. That's a great song, but a little too mellow; there's not much to bump and grind with there. I want to inspire action, not relaxation.

Your requirements for the artist are quite specific that I have a hard time thinking of anything non male. Some artist come to mind are Enya, Bjork or sugarcubes and Berlin. I cant think of any specific songs but I think they all may be too slow for what you are looking for.

Bjork - May be "Human Behavior" on her Debut album. there are actualy quite a few songs off this one I personaly liked

There is a version of the mentioned Madonna song that is a Justify my love XXX remix. It begins like a porno flick and the lyrics are very dirty. I tryed to post a sample but it would not allow it, Google was not too helpful either. Its almost 8min long. Ive used it in numeruos "sex" scens. Always a classic!

But one song that always stops my thoughts in their tracks and makes me think of sex is "In Your Room", Depeche Mode. It's hot, slow and thumpy, and always makes my brain melt.

Fopr bump and grind the only one that comes to mind is 'You Can Leave Your Hat On' by Joe Cocker - and you said no men!

I actually am considering making use of "The Love Cats" by the Cure, so perhaps my hard-and-fast rule concerning female artists only doesn't have to be so hard and fast. However, I will point out that "Love Cats" is most definitely about lesbians, so it has that going for it at least.

I agree with southernsky Prince would definately be a good choice, Darling Nikki is the one that comes to mind. Its very sexual and has a good thumping beat to it. I know it may also sound corny but the Eurythmic Sweet Dreams could also be used. Anything By R Kelly would be good unless he is to lustfull or not what your looking for at all. Your choices of songs are unlimited you just have to have a feel for what you want. I like the choices you have so far.

If you do get stumped find a movie with a very satifying sexual scene in it and listen to what is playing in the background. That seems to work well most of the time.

I love that song! But I prefer the original by Johnny and Santo. Never heard Larry Carlton's vesion, but I can imagine. If it's not too late to suggest tunes for the "show," this really would be a great last tune. Used to be a radio show I listened to that would play this at the end, very late at night / early in the morning, and it evokes a wistful, melancholy feeling about the end of something.

If it's not too late, another good choice would be Clifford Brown's "Blues Walk." It's an instrumental, but it's got a nice juke joint, blues shuffle, bump and grind to it. It sounds like classic strip show music without being strip show music. Whenever I hear it I always imagine a band of musicians, bored out of their minds, playing it off to the side of the stage in a 50's era strip joint out on the edge of town. There's a nice version by Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown. It would be a nice curve ball in the rest of your mix.
