Hello, I'm an aspiring author and I have an idea for a twist on the 'blackmailed teacher' scenario that involves a female teacher getting caught masturbating (or something else considered shameful enough to warrant getting fired) by the new male principal and offering to sleep with him to save her job. It sounds rather generic from that basic description, but the blackmail thing is just a lead-in to a more psychologically-driven romance between two rough-cut people who are struggling to keep appearances while their inner selves become more and more restless.
I've already got a lot of the plot mapped out, but I'm having trouble with developing the proper motivation for the teacher to engage in such risky behavior at school in the first place. While she does have her urges, she's not some insatiable nympho, just very lonely and misunderstood. She became a teacher in order to avoid ending up back in the trailer park like her battered tramp of a mother, who she identifies with but despises because of her mother's incorrigible attraction to abusive men. She works for a high-class private school (maybe even a Christian assembly, just to enhance the contrast) and she feels very out of place, but the money she earns is enough to support her younger sister who is also struggling to recover from their childhood. When she is faced with the prospect of losing her job, she regresses back to the behavior she learned from her mother, which is to use sex as a bargaining tool. The twist, here, is that the new principal rejects her offer because it reminds him of the way his own mother was toward his abusive father, which he is ashamed of for finding arousing because it implies that he is just like his dad. While he is attracted to her, he refuses to allow himself to treat a woman like his father did, so he merely lets her off with a warning. This bizarre act of mercy from a man is something the teacher has never experienced before, and it plants an uneasy seed of emotional attraction in her toward the principal. At the same time, catching the young teacher playing with herself, along with her subsequent offer of a blowjob, inflames a conflicted lust in the principal, who has to fight his powerful urges toward her because of his position. In this way, the main characters are two sides of the same coin, and over time they begin to rely on each other in order to confront and grow out of the tragic pasts that once held them back.
Unfortunately, as I mentioned before, I need help with developing the proper context for the incident that sets the rest of the story in motion. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as well as any heads-up in case this story sounds too familiar to bother with. So far I haven't seen anything like it, and I'm hoping that the intricacy of the psychosocial dynamics will make the story stand out as well as be entertaining enough to keep impatient readers interested long enough to get to the sexual aspects, which will also focus heavily on the sexual cue of transgression. I should probably mention that I'm a psychology student and I just read a fascinating book on human desire called "A Billion Wicked Thoughts". In the book, the psychological cue of transgression is the basis for explaining why people are able to become aroused by things that disgust or terrify them. I emphatically recommend it to anyone who wonders why they enjoy the things that turn them on. I know I found it tremendously enlightening.
