San Antonio outshot Cleveland most of the game, with a late Cleveland rally making it look closer than it was. San Antonio out rebounded Cleveland.

LeBron James had an off night. He must be on if Cleveland is to have a chance.

I'm sure he will be in the coming games. And that is what will make the series interesting.

Game Two will be closer, I think.

See you all on Sunday! :D

And, Trom . . . I'll buy you a drink once the series is over ;) You might need it . . . .

Don't count your chickens before they're hatched. Remember, the Cavs were down two games to the Pistons, and we all know what happened there. LeBron wont play like that in game two I garauntee.

And I don't drink.

Game 1 in the can. :D
It sure was. Can someone explain to me why Cleveland let them run out the shot clock with less than a minute left and only down by 8? I swear their coach is one of the dumbest I've ever seen. On the bright side, LeBron was way off (it wasn't the defense, he missed easy shots), Gooden threw up 2 airballs, and pretty much everyone else sucked except Gibson, and they kept it close. I'd like to see them take game 2, just to keep it a series. It's a 2-3-2 format and winning three in a row at home will be next to impossible. If it's going to go at least 6, I think they have to win the next one.

I see this second game as being a critical one for the Cavs. I think it will be a close game, but that the Spurs will finally prevail. We shall see.

I agree (obviously). Spurs are already pushing a lead.

I would like to hereby reiterate my earlier post...Brown is the STUPIDEST coach in the history of the NBA. "Gee, lets not get LeBron in foul trouble. Better to wait and play him in the second half when we're down by 30."

Maybe it's all part of some master plan . . . .

The Cavs are rallying, though. At least at the moment.

Yeah, well if they hang close, he won't look like as much of an idiot, but trust me, I saw Jackson play Jordan in foul trouble dozens of times. You have to trust your superstar (especially when your team kinda sucks without him). It won't do any good to have him available later if the games out of reach.

First Quarter comments?

What happened with the Cavs? They sort of . . . collapsed.

They have one chance, and only one chance....If James keeps driving the middle and gets the Spurs big guys in foul trouble. They're pretty thin once you get past Duncan.

I don't know about that. Parker's really coming alive in this series. He might be the strongest player we have right now.

28-point lead for the Spurs . . . that's going to be a tough obstacle for the Cavs.

I've always loved him and Ginobli. I'm a little sick of Manu's flops, but they are both so good! I'm just going to bail on the game and head in to work. If Cleveland is going to make a miraculous comeback, I'll have to listen to it. I'm still just floored by the strategy of sitting James. You spot the better team a 15 point lead in their own building....Of course they're playing relaxed and well. If anything good comes out of this series, I hope it'll be Cleveland finding a real coach.

Maybe Brown's hoping for home-court advantage with the next three games and is letting James rest. The Spurs have a notorious history of balking in road games during finals. Brown may be counting on that.

Catch you later, Des.

The Cav shot .268 first half, the Spurs shot .553. The Cave got 19 rebounds, the Spurs got 30. The Cavs got 4 assists, the Spurs got 13. LeBron met Bruce Bowen! It looks like lights out for the Cavs, not just for the game but for the whole series.

Even I would say that may be premature to say, but as a Spurs fan, I have to agree. Still, given the Spurs' track record of going down during the finals, and James' apparent growing strength during the playoffs . . . who knows?

I'm not a fan of either team, but I hope the Spurs win... and I don't know why. lol

They're hammering the Cavs 42-65 so far in the second game.

At least the Cav's are showing a little energy this half.

That they are. Maybe Brown is using this series as a sort of training exercise, not expecting to win, but to pump up his team . . .
