For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated with the female navel. I have never understood why, but I feel a woman's navel is one of the sexiest things in the world.
In recent years, women seem to be realizing the sexual potential of their navel with so many girl pop singers and actresses overtly displaying their bare tummys and bellybuttons. Personally, I love this trend, one that has even reached the "girl-next-door." Yet through it all, it still isn't openly aknowledged as being a sexual tease. There remains an innocence about it, and maybe that's part of the allure.
I know there are a lot of men out there who feel as I do, but what about you women? Are you aware of the eroticism of your navel? Do you purposely wear belly-baring clothes because it's sexy to do so? How do you feel when you notice a man admiring your exposed bellybutton in public? Is your navel sensative to the touch? Is it an eroginous zone? Do you enjoy "navel play" during lovemaking?
I would love to here your thoughts on this subject and perhaps even your expeiences if you would like to share them.
Thank you.

the belly

While I wouldnt say I have a specific navel feticsh...I most certainly have a thing for bellies. This is one of the sexiest areas on a woman's body. The skin tending to be somewhat softer and looser than the back, for example. This is obviously related to this being the center of her maternal/feminine power/aura.

I think the navel is the focal point of the region and thus is imbibed with a degree of attraction.

Kissing, licking and caressing my lover's belly is an integral part of my lovemaking.

I am in the minority in that the belly exposure thing doesnt do it for me. I really only develop the attraction to the belly of my current lover, erotically anyway.

....getting the idea I have been not at all helpful in answering this, oh well.

Actually, I think the idea of a woman's navel being enticing to men is something that has only recently been somewhat "dismissed".

How can we forget that Barbara Eden's costume in "I Dream of Jeannie" had caused a major scandal in Hollywood, and it was only by raising the waistband that the show was deemed (marginally) "family material"? I mean, let's forget about the fact that she was wearing a rather skimpy top (for that era, anyway), and harem pants - my GOD! Her navel is showing!!! :)

Jump ahead to the 70's. Think C H E R. Remember the old "Sony and Cher Show"? Many of Cher's costumes then, designed by Bob Mackie, were skin baring. But the biggest complaint? Her exposed navel!

Even the very first 2 piece bathing suits kept the navel firmly under wraps. It wasn't until the bikini made a splash that the navel was put on display. And the bikini was scandalous as well!

There is most certainly something about the female navel, although I really don't know what it is. I mean, let's face it - we ALL have one, both male and female. But I think Modest Mouse has something: for most women, this part of their anatomy is softer than a man's. Usually more curved - even if she is very thin. More womanly. And I think it may have something to do with the idea that just a little bit below the navel, just a few inches lower......is pure heaven for most men.

Do I like to have my navel "played" with? Heck yeah! But only if my partner is really into it. My navel is very ticklish, so too much teasing play can be irritating to me.

And you know, this can work just the opposite. The sight of a man's navel is somewhat arresting to me as well. Of course, men have, for the most part, gotten away without wearing shirts and wearing their jeans a little lower, so their navels are exposed. But for me, it's the idea that directly below that little orafice, just a few inches down, just below the waistband - ah YES! :D

Oh yes. I "came of age" during the '60s. MaryAnn on Gilligan's Island actually got away with showing her navel a few times. Seeing those brief glimpses of her bellybutton, as well as "dreaming of Jeannie" and what was under that waistband, helped usher me through puberty.
I've heard the "vaginal echo" case stated before and can't argue with it. But it can't be quite that simple. My fascination is not limited to just the navel, though it is definately the main focus. I love the entire tummy...the ribs, the underlying muscles, the rises and hollows, the subtle contours, the softness of the skin. But the navel is indeed the Prize. A tummy exposed and a navel denied is ultimately frustrating (Barbara Eden, for example).
I don't suppose I'll ever really understand it completely. There is something about the vulnerability of the belly that I find alluring, a sexual vulnerability. I dream of "introducing" a woman to the joys of navel love, and awakening her to a new part of her sexuality she had previously overlooked. Maybe, that's what I'm trying to do here. Of course, I prefer the personal touch. :)

I love this. Please, more discussion. It's very enlightening.

Licking Cointreau or Creme de Menthe from a woman's navel has much to recommend it ...

A few delicacies I have sipped, slurped, or licked from a woman's bellybutton:

Tea
Sliced strawberies
Cookie crumbs
Ice cream
Melted chocolate
Vanilla pudding

I have a navel fetish too. However, nothing gets me more excited than when I get a shy girl to wear navel-barring outfits then take them out public places.

I have a belly button ring, silver with a blue ball. I have noticed guys like to play with my navel more now that I am pierced. Plus having a belly button ring reminds me to do my crunches!!

I agree with Myshka27, that more men seem to be attracted to my belly button and that region in general now that I am pierced.
However my naval ring doesn't remind me of doing crunches!:)

Do you find yourselves purposely displaying your tummy and bellybutton more now than you did before you got your peircing? The guys who play with your navel, is it part of flirting, or part of lovemaking...or both?

Keep doing those crunches. :)

I have always displayed my tummy....I suppose honestly I display the naval area more now than before because of the piercing. It's sexy and I'm proud of the way I take care of myself. Still hate the crunches though!;)
Guys who play with my navel are usually being playful & flirting. Long term lovers....it's part of love making.

During Spring & Summer, my girlfriend wears halter tops and midriff-cropped dresses every single day. She hasn't gotten it pierced yet but she really wants to soon.

What kind of outfits do you wear? Are they mostly casual halter tops or do you wear dressier "night on the town" type clothes?

I tend to be more the casual type. I like to wear my hip huggers with a nice halter that ties around the neck. If I am going out for a night on the town, I have a few real nice pairs of hip huggers...shiny and leather, and I will add a pair of heels to the outfit.

Cool. I just bought my wife a nice red dress with a skirt that comes about half-way down to her knees and a skimpy spaghetti-strap top that shows off her tummy. I had her wear it to a party that we went to last week.

She's actually pretty shy, but after I kept introducing her to all of my friends she finally became more comfortable.

I'm glad you two had fun. Keep telling her how sexy she looks and that might help.

I have a couple of dress tops that don't come all the way down and shows my tummy. I usually wear these in the warmer months or in the fall with a jacket. They are really comfortable.

Appriciation

Bless all you belly-baring ladies. It does my heart good to know there are women out there who recognize the erotic mystique of their navel and who don't mind (and maybe in fact, enjoy) men admiring their exposed tummy.
With the summer months passing and colder weather coming on, the opportunities to see navels become fewer and fewer. Do any of you have "winter" clothes that leave your tummy bare? Short sweaters are particularly enticing. Or, as shrivaya said, maybe the same short top you wore in warmer weather, along with a jacket or cover-up of some kind?
Dear ladies, please continue to proudly show your tummy and navel, even during the colder time of year. It certainly helps keep me warm. And if your tummy gets cold (goosebumps are sexy, too) I'm willing to lend a warm hand.

Or maybe even some hot fudge. :p (lick)

Just wanted to bump this topic up in the hopes of generating some more response. I KNOW there are lots of guys out there who love female navels. Tell what you like to do to them. Ladies, you like to show off your pretty tummy! Share with us the responses you get from guys. Has a guy ever just come right out and told you directly what a beautiful, cute, or sexy bellybuton you have? I'd love to hear about it. It turns me on, so much. :)

Thanks,
Rothgar

I love to tickle them.

Hmmmm

I do feel quite sexy when i know someone can catch a glimpse of my tummy and belly button.....when i reach over to get that thing i just have to get :p

Funny thing is my Grandfather will always comment on my bare midrift, telling me to cover up abit more. But he's never once commented on my clevage revealing tops or my short skirts......is a navel more sexual than legs or breasts?

Interesting thread!:D

Speaking from my personal perspective, I'd say yes. To me, a woman's navel is just as sexually stimulating as her breasts or legs, if not more so. Don't get me wrong, I love tits too. But a good look at a bellybutton is as erotic as a pair of stiff nipples poking out a shirt. Of course, seeing both navel and nips at the same time can be devistating. :p

Also, it's difficult to say which is more erotic; accidental or deliberate exposure. There is a special thrill when a shirt rides up inadvertantly and a hidden navel comes into view, especially if you know the girl is navel-shy. On the other hand, a girl in a belly shirt or crop-top knows her bellybutton is on display and (at least subconsciously) is proud of it and expects you to look at it.
What can I say? I like seeing bellybuttons regardless of the circumstances. :)

I must say i'm not the kinda girl that wears tops that barely comes down past my breasts like our friend Britney!
And I refuse to do stomach crunches-i'm a woman and my tummy is curved! I do exercise but my tummy gets left in it's natural state :D
