my thought was why the hell would humans, the most "evolved" of all animals want to be "abused" isn't that back asswards?

Don't go judging all horses by Mr. Ed. He was a PIA, and kind of square. Some talking horses may well enjoy a little whipping, branding, maybe even some pony play. I am not sure they'd tell you, particularly the BDSMares, since they are not so much into beastiality (sex with other species) as D/stallions. Horses tend to be kind of shy around people anyways, and don't say a lot of anything.

I think at times humans treat their animals better than fellow humans. I think that's part of the appeal of being a pony person. They are generally well cared for from what I've seen.

I think there's a wide range of animals, like there's a wide range of humans.

Some dogs probably have more homosexual leanings than others, just like in humans. So I don't think it's unlikely that some horses, if they had the opportunity to express it, might tell us that they get pleasure from riding crops. Maybe not all, but maybe a few.

While we cannot tell how exactly all animals feel about physical pain and abuse as such in the sense of BDSM human activity, we can look at the behaviour of animals, especially horses and dogs, and also cats, who do go above and beyond the call of duty at times to serve and/or please their Masters and Mistresses.

How many times do they, especially dogs, save the life of a human, often enduring much pain or even death themselves....submissive to the end, serving the needs of the owner above their own? How many times does an abused dog come back to it's owner and still give unconditional love despite the bad treatment? How often do aniumals strive to please even more the Master/Mistress who disciplines and trains them? Seems there are more similarities than thought at first glance.

I have read a lot about ethyology, trying to understand human behaviour in comparison with animal behaviour... I haven't read anything yet about spanking monkeys or whipping wombats but I think there's always a connection possible... I am no expert on the subject, but I think BDSM is an answer to needs that humans have forgotten about, tucked away or even repressed for ages... well actually, BDSM probably is as old as mankind...
