I guess I've never been "formerly" introduced. Hi Musk (is that what I should call you?) Do drop in now and again. Everyone needs a break from real life now and then.

HEY - and look - Moonie and his guitar are back. YEAH!!!!!! :nana: :nana: :nana:

Call me whatever you like Love

I don't spend a lot of time around lit lately but I do come back in spurts here and there.

Ohh Moonie - that was bad but I applaude you for hitting that softball. Had I seen it before you I would have certainly taken a swing at it.
Guess Musk set you up good for that one. He should come around more - I like the way he plays.

Youi mentioned Stephen King before - are you going to see the new movie? Isn't Nicholas Cage going to be in it? Or am I mistaken? Just saw a comercial briefly the other day.

musky is a female.... but I like the way she plays, too. ;)

I'll probably see the new movie eventually. 1408. I have no clue what it's about because I haven't read the story it's based on. must be one of his short stories. I believe it's john cusack, tho, not nic cage.

OOOOPPS my bad - sorry for the gender thingy with Musky. I can't always tell the playes without a score card.

All I know about the movie - obviously not enough to even know who is in it- is that the room 1408 of this particular motel has had a lot of murders committed in it. In the commercial there was a shot of a hallway that looked a lot like the same hallway scene as was in The Shining. Probably won't see it cuz I'm a big old chicken and too poor to go to movies.

well... I can dig being poor, too. when I said I'd probably see it, I meant after it came out on dvd or on cable. sometimes I'll treat myself and go to see one in the theater, but it's a drag going alone sometimes.... and even if I could get a date, then money becomes even more of an issue.

dada...

I've used up a lot of posts in various threads talking about one of my favorite bands, a trio from california called dada. to me, they're better than just about anything else out there, and I really believe that anyone that likes the beatles would really dig dada. they're kinda like the beatles with jimi hendrix on guiar.

why am I bringing them up again? because they're fuckin' awesome, that's why!

no, really... it's because I never really had any way to get people to check them out other than to say there are song clips on the store page of the band's website. that's changed, now.... now you can hear dada songs on streaming audio while you surf the site.

so, check 'em out. they can rock, they play some beautiful ballads, and the harmoney vocals are just fantastic. if you do give them a listen, let me know what you think. well, unless you hated them. I'm the only one allowed to have negative thoughts in my thread. ;)

just go to dadatheband.com and click on "listen now". I think that's all it takes... I don't have a sound card so I can't listen now. lol. hope ya dig it.

it's hard to believe this thread has lasted 70-odd pages. I was kind of looking through some of the early pages because I thought I had a really good post describing dada. I couldn't find it, so I'm gonna use the post above this one in DB's new music thread.

what really struck me on that little nostalgia trip was how many people just stopped by for a post or two (or ten) and then were never heard from again. is it any wonder I get a complex sometimes? I guess I do the "flirt" thing sometimes, too... I just don't do it well enough to be one of the guys that the women seek out. maybe I'm too real to be any fun, I dunno.

Now who's to say real isn't fun? At least you aren't all advertising and packaging and then when you get to the stuff inside your a disappointment. It's the "unreal" ones that scare me. Keep it real Moonbeam.

yes, people do love a downer.
unfortunately, real is all I know how to be.... I try to be flirty sometiimes, but after a certain point it just ain't my bag.... likke I dunno what to say. thatnks for the encouragement, tho. kinda down tonight, if it isn't apparent, but trying to hide it at least a little bit. I think I'll try to think of a trivia question.

p.s. xanax is a bitch on typing. lol.

hi mrmoon - i saw the post about your mom... take care of yourself too, ok?

just wanted to drop in and say hi. :rose:

thanks... I hope she gets better... not only because I love her but if she's gone there ain't much use for me around here. it's hard enough finding reasons to stick around already.

another prime example of why I don't rate high on the flirt-o-meter. lol. thanks for the thoughts, nowgirl.

Really good, mrtnmoon, really good. Other bands ought to offer music streamed like this. It would be a good promotion.

Oh, and continued well wishes for recovery to you and your mom. Work getting any easier for you?

Hey there! I hope this weekend is better for you. Is your mom still improving?
thanks for asking... she had taken a few steps backwards. still having a lot of trouble with her lungs and being able to breathe. we found out yesterday that there are medications she was supposed to be on when she left the hospital that apparently got left out of the orders the nursng home received... her lung doc was very upset. maybe now that we know and they're getting her started on them it'll be smooth sailing.

see the above post about mom. as for me... I dunno. seems like it's taking me longer to get my stamina back than I thought it would... it's sad that working 4 hours wears you out, but I guess it will get better.

glad you liked the band. I dunno how far away from philly you are, but they're playing there in august. I definitely recommend catching them live if you get a chance.

Oh wow, that's horrible. How does something like that happen!? I hope you are right and that now with the right medications she will begin to improve again. :rose:

I've never driven to Philadelphia from here ... it's a little over 4 hours to Washington D.C., so probably just under 4 to get to Philadelphia. I'll check it out.

I dunno. my bro is all hot to sue someone, but the people at the nursing home say that it happens more than you'd think.

well... I guess that would be a heck of a drive to see a band you've never seen before. I mean, it's easy for me to say it would be worth it, since I'm such a fan, but that doesn't mean it'd be worth it to you. if you have something else to do in the area around the same time, tho... it'd definitely be worth your while to see them. the gig is on august 24 at a place called the north star bar.

if you do want more details, you can go here: dada live dates
