One of my co-worker's (several years back) had a cat that wouldn't use the litter box unless the cat could face into a corner while in it. Didn't matter if anyone else was in the house or not, if teh box wasn't in a corner the cat woiuldn't use it and would go find a spot under a table or bed to take a dump. Cats are just weird...
