My perfect slave.

yikes that's a bit much, there are many complications that go along with being induced, dangerous for the mother as well as the baby. i think iducing is used too much these days instead of letting the natural birth process work. my doctor induced me because He was going out of town and wouldn't be back until after my due date, because of that my son has ALOT of problems. He has hydrocephalus because he was not ready to 'come out' and they had to use a vacuum to get him, he has asthma, he had delays as a baby also because he was induced too early.

*shrugs* sorry to rain on your parade of the 'perfect slave' but she's lucky the baby was a very healthy one, it could have easily gone the other way. the birth process is the way it is for a reason, and messing with that because you want your husband (or yourself) to see a football game just seems wrong to me. 'course i'll probably be flamed for saying this because it was a light hearted thread lol..but well, this is me, and i guess my experience just doesn't let me see this as a good thing so...instead of ranting some more i'll get off my soap box and head to another thread.... :D :rose:

Nah, you're not alone. I'm with you that induction and also ceasarians are overused these days all in the interests of fitting into the schedules of doctors or expectant parents with the welfare of the child a side issue not worthy of interest it seems. If I were Dominant, and my pyl had chosen this path for my child's entry into the world, I would not have been a happy puppy and she would be under no illusion as to how ill placed I felt her judgement had been. Sorry Snooze, for me there are more important things in life than sport.

i'm glad i'm not the only one who feels this way, and as i said i know alot of it comes from the problems my son had as a baby, and still has from being induced too soon, so it wasn't a thread i could just smile about and say 'oh wow she loves her husband alot to do that for him' i saw it as more, wow football was more important than the health of her child, how nuts is that?

LOL, I can't help thinking the perfect Dom would have been more organised and made sure he did the deed at a time which would not have meant the subsequent birth would have clashed with his schedule of sporting fixtures!! :D

LOL..oh so true! never thought of it like that... :D  i am so not a sports fan. Master loves football so i'll have to learn to tolerate it i suppose, though if i had to pick a sport, it would have to be baseball, i'd rather watch a good movie instead of any sport.

*waves his hand...* Heeeeellllllllllooooooo... this guy is a BEARS fan... Pre season he could expect the Bears to go to the playoffs with as much expectation as... as... *ponders a moment...* a fan of the CUBS(1) expecting THEM to go to the playoffs! Totally unexpected!

*LOL*

(1) For folks who are not US Baseball fans, insert the name of the perennially absolute worst, hard luck, can't catch a freaking break, they are so absolutely horrid they are ALWAYS the last place team in their division soccer/futbol/football team.... Imagine boinking your mate to get pregnant with the idea that they _might_, just _might_ make the playoffs... Uh huh... you see how laughable that idea is now! *LOL* Gotcha!

LOL..Master is a Raiders fan (and i'm going to be good and bite my tongue) but i still think, He would schedule getting me pregnant so that the birth would not coincide with His football season, especially the super bowl....but He would NEVER ask me to have my labor induced just so He could be home watching the game, and i'm sure if i were to have it done that way for Him, He would NOT be pleased! though i'm sure it would be on in the hospital room

I have to say, as someone who's been induced once, and had three cesarians, that that is the STUPIDEST reason to be induced. I was induced cause I'm 5' tall and my daughter was already 9 1/2 lbs, the dr was afraid she wouldn't fit through the birth canal. She was right, she wouldn't, not with a 14 1/2 cm head - which is why I ended up with a cesarian. 100 years ago I'd have died in childbirth, those are the reasons for inducement and cesarians, not so you can watch a stupid football game.

Wow

Well I see my light hearted attemp at humor went over like K-Feds music career.I hope no ill feelings were fostered or bad ideas planted. But after reading a story like that it begs to be used in humor. :)

LOL @ the k-fed music career....no ill feelings here....i just couldn't find the humor in it because of the problems my son had because of being induced to make it convenient for the doctor.. i saw it more as ignorance on the parents part...but definantly no ill feelings toward you! i see where you found humor in it :rose:

Like all humor, there is a grain of truth hidden in there, which shows up how seriously screwed up some of the world is....

some?:p

I have seen THREE Raider superbowls in My life. (I was only 3 years old for SB XI, so I didn't see that one) Two of which I love to remember, the other I wish I could forget. I bleed Silver & Black, and have told rose that if we ahve a child together the kid is coming home from the hospital in Raider gear. Silver and Black is My main colour scheme for anything.

THAT BEING SAID.... NO WAY IN HELL WOULD I WANT HER TO HAVE LABOUR INDUCED JUST SO I COULD WATCH A RAIDER GAME, EVEN IF IT WAS A SUPER BOWL!!!!

hehe Us, over react?

I have to admit that when I read it I just kinda rolled my eyes. But then the whole conversation on inducing and all that got me going. I feel very strongly that those are the kind of things you do in the case of medical emergency, not just for convenience.

Ummm EG, the Bears were in the NFC championship game last year and lost to the Seahawks. They were the preseason favourite to again take the NFC north, and thought of as Superbowl contenders...

Arizona Cardinals, OTOH, those are the hard luck guys... or the New Orleans Saints...
