So I've been wanting an o-ring for the longest time, and since I am very much ownerless, bought one. I ordered a nice chunky man-sized one, thinking that if I ever find the perfect dom, I can present him with this ring that I've worn since discovering my sub side. I suppose the thought of being collared is a little fantasy I have and exchanging his collar for my ring is something I have pink princess dreams of.

Now here's my question: as I haven't made it past the tenth page of 50shades of grey, please can someone tell me if my ring is mentioned in the book? Or has Pauline Reage's reach spanned all the way the deepest, darkest corner of persephone - land? Only I've received the strangest winks and smirks from the most unassuming of people!

Ahh, you stars!

So why does everyone now give me dirty little winks. Are they are naughty little perv like me? *pout* And I thought I was special!

I'm so confused. What are you referring to as an O-Ring that would be out where people can see it?

The only things I can think of are literal o-rings used as seals in manufacturing, and maybe cock rings? why would people be able to see a cock ring you had bought?

I'm so confused :(

As I recall, the main character of The Story of O received a unique ring from her lover that bore the symbol of the club where she got her training. Further, if I recall correctly, she also received a ring for her clitoral hood. I can only hope that our OP is talking about a ring on her finger and not the latter.

Ah. Fair enough then. Sorry, I never read that book and I've only watched the movie once, and it was a while ago. I don't remember much of it except the general premise (and only because one in four erotica pieces seems to mimic it...)

The search Stella did is spot on. My ring is the first pictured. I love it. The masculinity of the ring on my finger makes me very happy.

I wonder if this high when I look at it is still part of my sub frenzy.

AHAHA that piercing scene was so ridiculous, especially as we now know piercing.

Reage wrote one of those "down there" descriptions in fact, but I had the strong impression that it was through one of her labia.

... Matter of fact, there was a remarkable dearth of explicitness, now that I think of it. Am I remembering wrong?

Probably not and I'm much too lazy to pull out the book and verify. You're probably quite right, as a ring in the labia would have been plenty shocking for the time and for her audience then.

You're correct, it really wasn't very detailed. I read O in the very early 80s, when all the little Punk kids were running around NYC. That was my full experience of 'deviant' piercing (all those spikes!) so I struggled with parsing what I was seeing with what I was reading.

My deepest thanks to whoever invented the CBR! :D
