My Little Pony...

Yeah a lot of fans are like that with MLP.

Batman was used because of the huge differences over the years though. I could just as easily have stated that say Classic Bonds vs Daniel Craig Bond show a massive shift, Ninja Turtles (which I assume due to your age and gender you haven't watched in a decade or more) or several other franchises that have been around long enough to have Rated R versions and rated G versions and everything in between.

Also I assume Crowley lying about his age. We know demons can have kids so him having a kid doesn't mean shit, and we know demons can form things that resemble emotional attatchments so that doesn't mean shit. We know for sure that demons get stronger based on their age and the Seven Deadly Sins hadn't been topside since the 1300's or so and yet were much weaker than Crowley or that one black demon they had.

Any inconsistency that can be explained with a Demon lied or an Angel was mistaken should be treated as such. Same way any mistake in Hercules or Xena that can be answered with "A wizard did it" should work and in Buffy or Angel someone made a wish/altered the world around them. It apparently happens rather frequently.

They found Crowley's son and bones. There was a date in canon. The writers said they were new and made a mistake. None of these things are end of the world, they're just artistic disappointments. They get my respect for saying "oops" instead of "YOU GUYS TAKE THIS TOO SERIOUSLY, NERDS" disapprovingly. If you set out to court nerds and get them to buy your merchandise and make your fortune, sure you can be honest and nice to them.

I don't know why food and art are different. One feeds your body, the other feeds your brain. My brain knows when it's being fed crap or starved. It's at best just a waste of time, and some of it is flat out poison and bullshit.

Why converse at all about pretend people if you're not involved or invested in any way at all and it's interchangeable with everything else and everybody gets a Gold Star For Participation as well as the ticket money.

Yeah, I still call BS on the writers. If they found his bones then burning them would have killed him. The goof.

My point about food though is nobody expects bagels to taste like cakes even though they have similar recipes. I don't see why people expect Judge Dredd to be like Judge Dredd when there are lots of ways to interpret that character and clearly one is hilarious and the other quite serious.

It was Cas that burned the bones (he could have ported the bones away, created an instantaneous double and set those on fire) and he was in league with Crowley at the time, and Crowley was in on it.

But in reality it was a writing gotcha and it was a bad idea. They didn't plan it that way and they just made it happen that way at the end of the season for no particular reason worth the trouble.

Dough and glue also have similar recipes. You don't have to agree, I'm just explaining that this is how I feel. Respect the audience and the conventions. Or just take your chances that your glue will attract an audience on its own.

All the more reason why people shouldn't be pissed because it's a remake. They should be pissed because it's good or bad but not simply because there was a movie with this name a long time ago.

I have no complaint about being passionate. I have a problem with people being highly dismissive of remakes for very little reason in many cases. Big difference.

Relationships are about give and take.
Applejack: [chuckles] Oh Rarity, once again you're thinkin' about yourself. Bein' sisters is a give and take. You've been doin' a whole lotta takin', but you haven't been doin' a whole lotta givin'.
Rarity: But of course I give. I give lessons. Reasonable demands.

^^^ This is why she's best pony.

Rarity will have multiple episodes in Season 4 dedicated to her.

It was tweeted over the summer that the writers almost broke her voice actress, Tabitha St. Germain.

That's a good sign.

Yes it is cus she got no love in Season 3, not that anybody did with that half season. I'm just looking forward to our big bad guy. For a show that doesn't have any recurring villain (okay Trixie came back) the bad guys they make leave pretty good impressions. I'm probably going to have to add them all to my list of villains who were wasted on a property that couldn't show them the proper love.

It starts on Saturday!

And Nightmarity. . .Spike is either going to save us all or fuck everything up. Either way I feel very sorry for him.

I haven't even seen the episode yet and I'm having a flash back from the old Legend of Zelda cartoon. You almost had to feel bad for Link since the sequence went something like this (it's been 20 odd years so I'm hella paraphrasing)

Link storms Gannon's castle fights off monsters, saves the princess after an epic battle. Gets her all the way back to the castle and then.

Link: So Princess, you said if I rescued you from Death Mountain you'd kiss me.
Zelda: yes I did. *Kiss*
Link: Oh hell yeah I'm. . .*blink. . .blink* You're an evil clone aren't you?
Zelda: No! What makes you think I'm an evil clone!
Link: The real Zelda would have pushed me in the lake and told me I shouldn't expect thanks for doing my job.
~several hours later back on Death Mountain~
Gannon: Wait. . .you figured it out because my clone was too nice?!
Link: Yep. The real Zelda should rule over the Ice Palace because she's
Zelda: I'm right here!

That sadly is what I predict for little Spike.

Wow, I just scrolled through my Tivo (I just replaced my fucking DVR and I have to makes ure all my series recordings are back up and in the right time spots. God it took me like three years to get that thing fine tuned too!) Episode Three is Castle-Mania! If they end up fighting vampires I'm gonna need a fucking t-shirt to commemorate the occasion.

LOL. Did you actually finish?

I don't remember all the jokes but I know I'd been holding off on referenceing a Canterlot Wedding for a while cus nobody wanted to spoil Queen Chrissy for you.

Not that she's as cool as Discord but that's nobody's fault.

Oh, no, we didn't finish. We watched a few at the beginning and then I've done some skipping around, Bridle Gossip and Cutie Mark Crusaders and Stare Master and now I want to show the Halloween/Luna episode.

Reference away! I did make it to the beginning of season three, but not far past. It's getting to be a lot of the same thing that a regular kids' cartoon will do. Less silly and creative and more formulaic and DUN DUN DUUUUN.

But we're having fun. I'll make it some day!

If you made it that far you made it through almost everything that's great. I didn't tell you not to skip around, I told you to start with the two part opener because I think it lays the foundation rather well and they don't really go back and explain much of that later. They assume you understand Elements of Harmony and who everybody is.

Besides giggle with the ghosties is worth slogging through the rest of that by itself.

Out of season 3 the only thing I would label as must see is Apple Family Reunion. It's not that anything in it is bad, and Season 4 looks like they might be going more in an action direction but the first episode of each season ALWAYS looks that way. Like they have two writing teams, the guys who write the opener and then the guys who write everything else.

I actually feel bad because they might have the most wasted cast of quality villains ever. Other than Sombra. I didn't give a shit about him. I just about died though when someone told me Flugel Horns are real. Nothing Pinky pie wants is supposed to be real.

Cool! I'll head for that one. It seemed like things stayed random but got less clever. Less in the way of word play, less in the way of creative story lines and more in "there's a crystal we must get to save the kingdom!"

I named one of my ponies in Everquest 2 "Fluttershy"

That was me. I told you that. I played one!

LOL. I named my Rapidash in Pokemon T. Sparkle. She now hangs out with the Power Puff Girls.

I think all my horses from now on will be named Rarity since it's sufficiently vague and "horsey" that I won't have to explain it. People who get it chuckle and people who don't won't instantly catch on because it's not a crazy name.

Besides if she ever gets kidnapped I'll get all the gems I can carry which is pretty fucking sweet.

You know it's funny. My initial thought is only Celestia would build a castle with fucking trap doors and secret passages. The rest of me is thinking yeah. . .if I had a few million dollars (someone priced how much the Spencer Mansion would cost and assuming you could find a state with reasonable land prices it's only like 900k) I would totally have the most rediculous bullshit anybody had ever seen.

Pinky cannot be allowed to infect other worlds. That shit could greally out of hand really quickly.

Very true.

But John K. is a legend who supposedly is very particular about what he likes in animation. Seeing one of the creators of the Cartoon Renaissance draw a good Pinkie Pie - a Flash cartoon character, no less - is pretty cool.
