My first picture thread

I do this since I don't have the looks or body to pull off sexy. So I let my warped mind free and this is the result...sortof. Like I said above. I've been restrained by opportunity, time and wardrobe restrictions.

Thanks for the hockey ref. Yes I'm a fan. Got 2 tattoo's on me of hockey so I think that qualifies. lol
Your team is?

You are cute and sexy.

Plus you keep me laughing daily. That's very sexy.

:rose:

Still exasperating.

I think you have the looks to pull off sexy, certainly. But aside from that, on a personal note I have never been able to find men who don't have a personality and intelligence attractive. Having a quick wit speaks to both.

"My team" is a local team that's part of the major junior CHL league. NHL-wise, I tend towards teams which have players who spent their teenage years playing for my home team. I have a strong affection for St Louis and the Predators (I knew Brendan Morrow and Paul Gaustad; Paul was invited to my wedding but was forced to miss it for a training camp). I also keep track of Andrew Ference, Richard Zednik, Marian Hossa, and Michael Sauer (who played here as well).

Well as a hockey afficionado I do keep up somewhat with CHL and AHL teams as well as KHL and Swedish Elite league too.
So you follow the Portland Winterhawks I'm going to guess?
If my knowledge of CHL teams from out there is holding up I think I'm correct.
You don't follow Niedereitter? :p

Yup, the Winterhawks. So far we're doing pretty well in the playoffs. Hoping we can take the Memorial Cup this year instead of coming in 2nd like last year. Not sure how our chances are though, I haven't been paying much attention outside the WHL.

I didn't know Niederreiter, like I didn't know Deadmarsh or Coburn or Jones. There was a window when I was in the same age group and went to school with some of them and got to know them by that route. But if I watch an NHL game, I generally cheer for the team that has Hawks alumni :)

You guys have been near the top for many a years...When it's not London taking it.

Didn't Hossa and Deadmarsh come through around the same time? Or was Deadmarsh a little before his time?

Deadmarsh played his last season for the Hawks in '94-95, if memory serves. Hossa came to us for '97-98. He was a nice guy but spoke very little English at the time.

We've been doing well, that is true. But we suffered off and on for several years with really unsound teams. Had a couple divas come through in the early and mid 2000's that really damaged morale, plus ownership and coaching changes that did us few favors as well. Fortunately the last couple seasons, we've been improving :)

I never liked Deadmarsh.
Bit arrogant which pissed me off when he started to represent the US when he couldn't crack the Canadian national teams.
A bit of a suck who happened to be in the right place at the right time. (Portland - Colorado).

The rumor mill in Portland has it he was very good at putting on a face at fan events but he was a heinous dickhole otherwise. Allegedly he pushed around his girlfriend, but that's unsubstantiated. Something told to me through a long line of others.

Why I haven't really followed his career much :)

Any hockey teams you particularly follow outside the Leafs?

I'm really not surprised. ...smh...

Other teams I follow are as follows:
Vancouver Canucks
London Knights
Brandon Wheat Kings (though I don't stay *that* up to date on them)
Toronto Marlies
HC Davos

I'm familiar with lots and lots of teams but only as a fan of the sport. I don't particularly *follow* them...

London did pretty well in the Memorial Cup, as I recall. Weren't they the only team to beat Halifax?

Ahhh, we're fond of the Wheat Kings down here, back from the '97-98 season. That's when we nicknamed them the Wheat Thins. It was done with affection :)

I follow the Canucks some, mainly because they're the closest NHL team to where I live.

There was some talk about moving an nhl team to Portland. But Bettman couldn't do that without causing a riot in Canada as he's fond of pulling teams out of there and yet fighting like hell to keep teams in the US even though they are so bad off (i.e. Phoenix).
He did move Atlanta to Winnipeg though, which was nice.
There is talk of an NHL franchise going to the following places: Portland, Kansas City, Quebec City and the ever present rumour mill of Southwest Ontario.

They surveyed Hawks fans about bringing an NHL team to Portland a year or two after the new stadium was opened (it was build specifically with the NHL in mind). The response was overwhelmingly negative against brining an NHL team to Portland. Hawks fans are loyal to the club and the quality of play is just about as enjoyable as the NHL (plus it's great to watch favorites succeed in the NHL in the future). And not only that, ticket prices would double to triple, if not more, to support an NHL team.

Yeah...we'd rather not have one here :)

We would rather you not have a team either. Next place should be is Quebec city. Were they were moved so quickly to Colorado...smh!
