She had 5 and a half inches of hair cut off today. She was tired of the long hair getting in her face so she had it cut to her shoulders.

It's cute.. but still. How dare her grow up and make decisions for herself.

Wasn't this thread posted last year too? :p

No..She's never had her hair cut. Except for trims and three years ago her brother cut all of her hair off.

I read that as head.

I was wondering how she'd go about reattaching it

I'm waiting for the "Morning after the Prom" thread.

;-)

She's not allowed to go to the Prom. She will not date until she is 35 and married.

:D

It takes getting used to, doesn't it?

Rae's is getting really long, about at her middle back so far. She doesn't want to cut it at all, but I give it like 6 more months. She complains about it once in a while already.

My mistake...it was a thread about her getting glasses.

LOL

I shaved ALL my hair off for charity about two years ago.

My parents loved it, my sister refused to be seen with me without a hat, and I was 18 at the time for shucks sake :)

Just like Mom... huh? *nudge nudge wink wink*

And I hear parents always complaining about how their kids won't get a haircut.....what gives?

That's never made sense to me either.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm not complaining that she did it.. I was just really shocked because she's never wanted it this short before.

Same here!

Also, she has to wear a turtle neck, long pants, and a cast iron chastity belt when she DOES go on her first date.

And we will accompany her. :)

Summer's coming!

It's good that you let her make that decision for herself! I had a friend from childhood whose mother insisted that she always keep her hair long (waist-length). It was thick and frizzy...and she was always miserable!

I told my son the same thing.. he's almost 16. He's dated.. I'm sure he has masturbated and I don't even want to think about the sex thing.

I'm still alive.. but damn it's hard having kids grow up.
