My boobs still hurt, and other crappy news

Well, they're prolly sendin' ya'll to a cancer specialist because a cancer doc is far more conversant with cancer than a family doc is. A cancer doc can make diagnoses and prescribe treatments, if you are cancerous, much more accurately than a family doc. As a general rule. Ya'll wouldn't go to a podiatrist for a gyno check up? Same thing. It doesn't mean that ya'll have cancer, just something that resembles it and they want to make sure as accurately and efficiently as the medical community can charge your HMO for it. :)

Don't get fashed. It's easy to say on this side of the fence, but I've been where you're sitting at. The pall of some dreaded, horrible disease lurking over my head. Turned out I was just epileptic. I hope yours will turn out good for you, too. It's hard, but try not to think about it. And good luck.

yikes is scary but like KM said the best person to tell you that its not cancer is a cancer specialists think of it that way

often with these things they most likely can turn out to be anything i know pneumonia and other chest infections can cause weird spots on the lungs in x-rays and you would have more to worry about if you were a smoker ... being a non smoker means its more likely nothing i would think

*hugs* wishing you luck im sure it will turn out ok

MistressHoney One thing you don't want to do is get overworried about it. You can actualy make yourself sick that way (i know aobut that). They just want to see 'if' it's cancer. may not be then again it may. and if it is you still don't have to worry, cause they can get rid of most cancers.

Wish you all the luck in the world.

(if your boobs still hurt my offer to rub them better is still out there ;))

Hugggggs hun....keep your spirits up, and know you're in all our thoughts....

Mistress Honey,
I'm thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

I wish you well.

MistressHoney.

Take it from an old man who has been mis-diagnosed enough times that I wouldn't even believe my own death notice without at least two alternate opinions. As long as you still enjoy the rest of life, don't sweet the "Maybes."

HUGS!

Mistress Honey, I agree with KM. I want the expert on cancer determining whether I should be worried or not.

I understand your cries about age and wanting children. I discovered a lump in my breast when I was 25. Because I was so young all the doctors assured me there was nothing to worry about. I listened and believed them, but until they finally removed it three years later, a part of me was scared that they might be wrong.

Relax the best you can, try not to worry and follow the doctor's advice. You're in my thoughts, feel free to vent in my direction if you need to.

A familly doc may not know if it is cancer but a cancer doc will know if it isnt.

Hugs and prayers, Mistress.

Please, take care of yourself and let us know if we can do anything.

i remember when i had to bring my mother for her mammogram a few years back, and she complained to the doctor that her breasts hurt after the mammogram was over.

the doctor told her, if it doesnt hurt, they didnt do a thorough job of doing it.

The technicians always tell you "This will squeeze and will feel uncomfortable." Uncomfortable doesn't begin to describe what it feels like. And watching that plate come down and begin to flatten your breast only makes it worse. I've tried looking at everything else in the room, but there's no way to avoid watching.

After the first one, I learned to have someone else there to drive me home.

I have a friend who had something that sounded similiar. She had this persistant cold - fever, congestion, etc - forever. She went in for x-rays for pneumonia and they found a lump/tumor in her lungs. She's in her early 30's and she smokes a lot. The doctor thought it might be cancer.

They sent her to a cancer doctor and ran all kind of tests. I can't remember exactly what it turned out to be, but it wasn't cancer. She had so many sleepless nights and terrifying days until they knew for sure it would be okay.

Keep the faith - you're going to be just fine.

:)
