Musical instruments...

i used to play electric bass guitar in a local band years ago and sang too.

now, i traded it all in for a 12 string guitar and have been playing it off and on for a few years although i just got back to playing it very recently after about 7 yrs.

i dont read music so i play be ear. it takes longer to learn songs, but i am enjoying playing it again.

I know a lot of good guitarists who can't read sheet music. But most chord books will tell you which chord and how to play the chord as well so it's not that necessary to be able to read....for me I just gotta listen carefully to the song to figure out the rhythme

Have been playing music for 17 years.

Playing Guitar (17 yrs), Drums (16 yrs), Piano (5 yrs) and Bass (10 yrs).

Used to be able to read sheet music when I was 10-11 yrs old. But forgot all about that real quick when I traded a classical guitar in for the first electrical one.

Damn no male cello players around this joint? I'm a sucker for a cellist. :)
Um... female cellist here. But I stink since I haven't properly practiced/played it in years. The only time I play now is when my nieces are over and they want to "help" me. I want to get them interested in it while they are young.

I also have a piano which gets played seldom. I haven't had a lesson in almost 30 years so my quality has stayed at about what I played in high school. Visiting kids are also allowed to bang away on the piano as long as I can take the noise. That's how I got interested in playing when I was a child and a relative let me bang on theirs.

Funny, I tried talking a friend OUT of picking the cello to learn back when we were in 7th grade. Instead, she talked me INTO it! I always did like it though.

I like the title. Maybe not exactly as you intended though:

"Little Miss Can't be Wrong? I'm so indecisive."

Then this is good. It means you aren't taking it too seriously or you'd have decided by now.

Cheyenne's talking sense....truly a diplomat on this board :)

My most beautiful instrument would have to be a chinese one....but i don't know what it's called and you probably wouldn't know what it is anyway :)

Cool...can we have sex now? :D

*Must live up to being diplomat... thinking.... thinking...*

Sorry, I don't know you that well and I'm not the kind of girl to jump into bed with someone I just met. :)

Damn!
*cursing my openess*

So how about we get to know each other first?

What's your star sign baby? :D

Just a little info...

Since I'm finally perusing the boards...
I've been banging on the guitar since I was a teenager, and abusing the piano since before then. I dabble with the bass and also play harmonica, and I'm a big fan of just about all percussion instruments.

And, A.S.M....if I might make a suggestion... regarding playing and singing at the same time... If you're having trouble with the mix, just hang on to the rhythm of the song...(strum, strum, strum) until you get comfortable with the vocal rhythm. Don't worry about the intricacies(?) of the guitar. The value lies in the vocal expression. The message. Let your heart (the FORCE, Luke...) guide it...
Just my two cents...:)

But, but, but, you're not a man. :)

I think the cello is the most beautiful sounding instrument that exists. I'm very envious. I want to learn to play a stringed instrument.

Btw, do you like this for my title: Little Miss Can't be Wrong? I'm so indecisive.

Yeah, I'm holding my breath for that big Spin Doctors Reunion myself. Sheesh :p

Just an aside to all of my fellow Music types

Have you noticed that guys who play 12's always make a note of telling you that they play a 12 as opposed to just saying "I play guitar." I don't say I play a 5 string bass. Just a bass. I guess they just like telling you how folksy and jangly they are :)
