Just curious what would be a nice back ground music? the best i can really come up with is enigma enya or any of those but i think my gfs tired of em n what not, what would be the best CDs to get or songs in particular? for a nice romantic evening? or a car ride?

and i guess another question to go along with it, probably sounds very stupid, but should i turn down the subwoofers in the car or girls actually enjoy it?

and for the final question would girls enjoy a subwoofer for alot of vibration under the passenger seat? *evil grin* hahaha

thanks :)

Yesss finally a topic that i can shine in.

Ok about your 3rd questions about vibration. If you have the sub placed in the bottom of the sit. And with enough power it in theroy could make her cum. I do know that they do enjoy it.

Second question about turning down the subs. DO you mean do women enjoys subs? If you mean that its all a perfreneces but if you have a good set up with enough power and tuned correctly than the sub will give great sound quality and sound pressure*vibrations*

About good CD's what happend to the days when people wanted to be romantic they would just pick up a Barry White CD. But yeah barry white would be a good choice and Elton John. Some old school cds but if your want something morerecent cds i would stay away from Lil Jon cds. i mean he is a good producer but nothing could ruin a romantic evenning than hearing lil jon go "Yyyyyeaaaaahhhhhh!!!" or Wwwwwhhhaaaatttt!!!!

I just bought a cd by Ambulance LTD. I forget the name of the album, but the track I wanted was #2 - "Primitive (The Way I Treat You)" - which I could swear was a cover but the writing is credited to the band. ANYWAY, it turns out this cd is awesome for driving in the car, has some catchy tunes, and nothing that really hijacks your head for a couple days. The genre (as I classify these things) is kinda emo/independent rock with a retro finish. Helpful? Maybe not. :D How about this- when I switch out the album in a couple of days, it's getting filed between Jack Johnson, Modest Mouse, and the Postal Service.

Re: Subwoofers. I like 'em, but I don't like it when the car vibrates. It's distracting. I also prefer them applied to genres like Techno, and Jazz. (Totally disparate, I know.) Can't stand hiphop, sorry.

Re: Vibrations under the passanger seat. Yes. :D But let her know they're there first. Ruins the effect if she vaults out of your car and won't get back in 'cause she's afraid it's going to drop onto the road while she's in it. LOL.

It all depends on what the music's for... A romantic meal? Or romantic sex?

For a romantic meal, I would suggest some classical music... Bach, Beethoven... any of the masters will do... (Just don't blast it like you would with heavy metal.)

For romantic sex, I would suggest anything by Dido, Mila Jovavich's 'The Divine Comedy', or Mazzy Star's 'So Tonight That I Might See'... (not too heavy, rythmic, with some pretty good lyrics)

(and yes, turn down the subs in the car... most women I know hate that way-too-bassy stuff)

Damn forgot about Dido she is good.

If you do put subs in the bottom of the seats warn her but still leave some ambeguity to it like say,"yeah hun i just got some new subs for the car so ou might feel some vibration but its ok." than blast it. The biggest you can fitt in seats are 10s and sometimes even thats a streacht.

I got an '03 altima so it is fairly big car :)

and as far as music those were great ideas i'll get that stuff, how bout something kinda like soft relaxing maybe word less kinda good ambiant sound for a nice romantic evening

There has to be some company that published an album of good sex background music! I mean really. If not, could someone make a list of tracks for the musically-challenged (me! me!), I'm sure we (me) can go about getting the songs (i-tunes?).

the closes i really found is pure moods CDs, but indian chanting in the background...i dunno... lol

For just random stuff- I've fallen in love with Sting's "Until." Thank you Angelic Assassin for getting me hooked on the lyrics first, LOL. Ah but that's another thread, another forum.
Moving along- what's her fav romantic movie? Pick up the sound track to that. THose tend to have lots of lovey dovey music.

Just personal opinon here, but I think you should take an axe to the sub-woofers and then dip them in acid for a week before burning them to slag in a blast furnace.

Sub-woofers don't belong in a car because the very low frequencies they handle don't STAY in the car -- and low frequencies travel surprising long distances from their source without losing power.

The low-frequencies aren't good for you (or your car either) -- even at volume levels that are reasonable for those too far away to hear the high-frequncies that don't travel as far. Some Very Low frequencies have been shown to affect mood and aggression levels adversely and some are even physically harmful at sufficient volume.

(The French actually developed a functional "sonic death ray" in the late fifties that used VLF frequencies around 7Hz -- The only problem with it is that Frequencies that low tend to be omni-directional no matter how you try to focus them and shielding the operators from the effects proved impractical.)

Save the sub-woofers for your home theater where they're useful in reproducing the subliminal effects designed into movie sound-tracks to enhance the "movie-going experience."

A good auto sound system doesn't really need them and you don't need the adverse effects of very-low-frequency sound at high volume when you're driving -- or trying to seduce your GF. In the latter case, they can actually be counter-productive.

The three B's of classical music Bach, Beethoven and Brahms all wrote some very romantic mood inducing music -- by that I mean music that evokes some of the body's physical reactions to certain sounds as well as in the sense of it being beautiful music. It's one of the hidden reasons that style of music has remained popular for as long as it has.

There are some more modern composers/artists that have discovered (or stumbled into) the secret to manipulating the audience with sound to evoke a specific mood as well.

Your GF's taste in music will have a lot to do with what works on her. If she won't or can't really listen to the music it's going to be much less effective as an aid to seduction.

well all that, i enjoy techno mostly and i love the bass and i know people get pissy about it and all that other great stuff, BUT i've made sure that the sound doesn't travel far at all, it doesn't sound much different than any other car, but it does create depth to the sound inside the car, and since i spend 90% of my time in or around my car i want to be able to enjoy good sound. On top of all that my friends and I often hook up my laptop and have ultrasharp resolution DVD player hooked up to the stereo so we get the movie theater experience without leaving the car :)

and usually i turn off the subs completely when she's in the car too :) but she did like the seat subwoofer idea :)

but thanks for the rest of the answer :)

Classical music wise: "The Divine Coemdy" from Composer Robert Smith works magic.

Some Norah Jones works well, as well as Sinatra, and some Ray Charles. If you are looking for more contemporary groups, some Dashboard Confessional, Sigur Ros (absolutely amazing, a musical orgasm in itself, just making out to their "untitled album" is magic), a group from Yorktown, Va called Atkins Lane is great, and I can't stress enough the power of Barry White, Marvin Gaye, and Issac Hayes. Great music for anything.
Hope it helps.

I think that makes you nearly unique among people with subswoofers in their car ;) -- unless of course by "any other car" you mean somone like my neighbors who have the sub-woofers cranked up tothe point where I can feel them from the time they turn off the main road (about 500 yards away) until they move around behind my building where the sound is blocked and redirected. :p

It's especially annoying when I have a headache.

Seriously, If your concern is for "good sound" and not massive power output for massive power's sake, then you're probably not like my neighbors. I do think you'd be surprised at just how much further the low frequencies travel though -- depending on the conditions, it can be as much as an hundred times as far the treble and midrange frequencies.

yeah i understand what you mean, i made sure to dynamat the hell out of my trunk and i've asked alot of peoples opinion to check how far they can hear my car, when the trunk is open you can have a club volume sound, but when it's closed it's very nicely dampened so the volume is no louder than stock speakers.

For a sexy/cool vibe go with:
-Portishead "Dummy" (this will work especially well with your subwoofers)
-Tori Amos "From the Choirgirl Hotel" (also good for subwoofers)
-Depeche Mode "Violator"

For a romantic/whimsical vibe:
-anything by Nick Drake
-Red House Painters "Songs for a Blue Guitar"
-Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds "Live at Luther College"

For a gettin-it-on vibe:
-the old standbys...Marvin, Barry, Al
-Maxwell
-selected Prince stuff

Blue..by Simply Red is an amazingly sexy album. Very soothing songs that would be great for a romantic meal, a nice massage, bubble bath, slow lovemaking or just the two of you sitting on the couch talking...

-shele
:)

Subs are not sexy or romantic in any way or shape. if you would take away the horrible beat and leave vibration i would say yes, but who would pay so much for only wibrating seats, you can get those for $20. therefore if you want to enjoy yourself you can have subs as loud as you want, but if you want to have a girl with you and dont scare or innoy her, you will lover them!:) well atleast thats how i am, too much noice is not good

Dub/Ambient/DnB suggestions

My suggestion,
Bill Laswell- Dreams of Freedom

Its a dub remix album of Bob Marley songs made in 1997. Laswell was working with the original master tapes and created some amazing soundscapes with them. Very low on vocals, the bass is warm inviting erotic. The kind of sound that defines a space. Dark and sexy, not dark and scary.

Massive Attack- Mezzanine
just for "Angel" and "Black Milk"

4-Hero-Two Pages
"Cosmic Tree" "I am the Black Gold of the Sun" "Star chasers""Escape That" "Third Stream" are great songs to set the mood.

Some Future Sound of London songs
"Her Face Forms in the Summertime" "A Study of Six Guitars" and "Max"
quite possibly three of the most beautiful songs ever written by two skinny pale guys from England.

DJ-DB- The secret Art of Science
its a drum and bass mix cd that is sexy as hell. I thin k my ex and I listened to this one more than anything else when we were together.

Depends ... if it's all romantic and stuff, I like a good soft love song compilation. But, if its more like we just need a fix, I like some good ol' Motown stuff. Its romantic, but not overly sugary. Plus, with the great beats, it helps us keep rhythm!

subs can work, the thing is not overdoing it. just a little bass for a fulls ound can go along way. it also has alot ot do with what is being played. alot of songs that have been made in the last five years or so, and a lot of more main stream dance music, have been recorded very loudly, there isnt much room for dynamics because the levels of everything is so high, there is no "wiggle room" so to speak so there is not much space for subtelty in the lowend frequencies, which results in bass being over bearing. older songs, or recordings that arent as loud have more wiggle room so the bass has more space to work and tends to be a bit more erotic:)
listen to the diffrence between the Fugees "Ready or Not" and whatever that sappy R&B song that sampled it.
the newer one doesnt have close to the amount of warmth as the Fugees track from almost ten years ago.
of course thats just my opinion I may be wrong.

LET'S GET SERIOUS HERE

Look, I'm not gonna fuck around here. I know a couple albums that no matter what you're doing make great tunes for the bedroom, the dining room, or the bathroom(guys, give your woman a bubble bath, wash her hair, dry her off, she'll love you for it). And they're both way more engaging and up to date than your early 90's schlock like Enya. Ewww....new age. Anyway, the first is

Moon Safari by Air
Air is a french duo that have an amazing knack for taking 70's pop sensibility and fusing it with spacey tech-influenced beauty. This music is by far the best lovemaking album ever. Just download Cherry Blossom Girl or Talisman. Amazing album.

Happy Songs for Happy People by Mogwai
Mogwai hail from Scotland and are one of my favorite bands of all time. Their music is just emotion personified by sound. Soaring waves of sound that bring on sparkling highs and crushing lows that make pleasuring someone millions of times more enjoyable. Their best album hands down.

Now, go, get these albums and enjoy.
